Nothing epic except the fail? Sorry, I could not resist.

It's a decidedly mixed experience, but I've found tanking LFR is actually the most epic thing I've experienced in WoW lately. Being the solo tank for the last few bosses on ToT (as no second tank can be found in LFR) is good for ones ego. "No tank, don't pull, you are going to DIE". ... "Oh, good job, tank".

My frustration is that my guild can't field 10 raiders anymore. We had a good DPS, but he wanted to raid more and at a higher level, and we can't replace him. I can't wait for virtual realms, although I am not sure it will solve our recruitment problem. Nobody wants to join a guild run for a fresh ToT on a Friday night? It's sad.

Seriously, fuck durumu in his eyeball.

This boss is giving us the most headaches this raid, we still haven't been able to kill him

It's not after the eyesore disappears that things start to go to the crapper... with bullshit rng. I am tanking the boss and I get the life drain, or someone else gets the lifedrain and when people are blocking the beam, force of will goes off and people fly off the platform.

lowest we have gotten him is 20% =/

Seriously? How far are you guys? I wish there were open slots like that available on my server - my hunter would jump at a chance like that if a group could get as far as Tortos.

I simply can't find any groups for him. My shaman's group (I was the designated "PuG Healer") beat Council (after about 6 weeks of working on Horridon), and then the Blizzard Sale came up and 3/4ths of them transferred off-server. Just got in with a different group last week (again as the "PuG Healer"), and they just beat (amazingly) Council for the first time. Not sure I can keep going with them, one of their nights is the same as my guild's normal raid night (but we have had a lot of people out the last few weeks).

It's so bad that I'm maxed out on Mogu Runes, and I didn't even turn in Lesser Charms last week (or this). :(

Seriously...I need to get my DK geared up for a raid ready alt as a alt tank but due to my extremely low pop server (wowprogress has us at 4k), pugs just don't happen.

Doing my rounds of raid bosses for mount drops, I popped into Dalaran, checked the Wintergrasp map and it was blue. So I flew over to the portal, which only appears when Alliance are in control, and it ported me to the fortress. At which point the cross-server thing kicked in, the zone switched to Horde, and every guard in the courtyard instantly aggroed.

You don't know how many times I've cratered flying to somewhere "on the other side of WG" because of that stupid xrealm bug that dismounts you if you are grouped, mounted and enter a CRZ.

Frustration 1: I need a new phone, my old one is dying (HTC Desire). Touch screen is about to give up, and it's prone to overheating and random shutdowns. :(

Frustration 2: Part of me wants an iPhone just because there's soooo many fancy covers, and oh mah gawd is like transmogrification for phones! But the iPhone 5's specs are just shameful... Simply shameful. The business student in me can't justify buying a lesser phone just for the shiny covers. :(

Norwegian currency (seven moose and a polar bear) converted to American currency (three burgers and a gun) for your leisure:

HTC One: ca $300
iPhone 5: ca $340
Galaxy S4: ca $370

That's about the prices I'm going to have to pay. So the iPhone is about the same price range as the others, yet half the RAM and half the processing power. And I don't really care about camera or music capabilities. :(

Yeah, the galaxy is probably the best option for you, my coworker swears by his S3.

On the other hand, I've had nothing but trouble with android phones, that stop being supported by their manufacturer 6 months after release. Meanwhile, people that had older iphones would still get updates to their phones.

That's what pisses me off about the android phones.

Mobile CPUs aren't truly comparable since 1) CPU design is a huge factor over clock speed and core count, early dual core Snapdragons vs higher clock quad core Tegra 3 is a big example of this, and 2) not much software really taxes multiple cores like on a desktop.

That being said there's always the leapfrog effect of buying a flagship phone 6 months after a competitor's was released and how fast the industry is moving.

Fair enough, in the cases of HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4, they did release much more recently than the iPhone. The LG Nexus 4 was released around the same time though, and that's still twice the RAM and more powerful CPU. That being said, I won't pretend to know anything about mobile phone hardware or structural design. And yeah, I do see your point about phones != desktops.

I dunno. I could sort of justify buying iPhone 5 just over "I probably don't need the power anyway", but it just feels a bit like I'm not getting my money's worth.

A common complaint of Android, even today in 2GB RAM and Octo core processors, is that it often feels laggy compared to iOS devices.

I've heard this as well. Hm. Well, iirc my sister has the iPhone 5, and I think my dad has the HTC One. If I'm lucky, maybe one of my cousins has a Galaxy or Nexus. Joining them all on a family vacation kind of thing soon, so I'll make sure to get a feel for the different phones. I appreciate the various input btw, thanks guys. :)

iPhones don't need as much ram to be effective as an android, purely because iOS is designed specificlaly for that limited range of hardware, sot it is optimized for that.
(I've seen very varying results of android on similarly "powerful" phones)

Also, what you are getting with the iDevices, is several years worth of updates, where your phone will get all the abilities it can handle hardwarewise, and just not get the ones it can't.

Personal analogy - we had HTC Desires 1 year ago - today we have iPhones (4s), and I've had no regrets - it's been easier to get things done and faster in a way that I've not seen on any of the equivalent generation of android phones.
I am by no means an apple fanboi - but with iPhones they have, in my opinion, really hit the sweetspot for phone users. (Phone hackers, I don't know, but I also have to say, that for me, a phone is for calling primarily, and being smart, the base apps like maps, browser and stuff like that also has to be fast and responsive - not looking at connection speed as thats primaily a carrier issue).

As for what phone, unless you are in an area where 4G connection is very extensive (and outside of wi-fi most of the time), an iPhone 4s could probably be worth it at possibly a lower pricerange - or even an iPhone 4 (they are the big selling iPhone for a lot of danish companies), if you don't care about Siri.

Nice to get some pro-iPhone perspectives. :) Question though, is it as incompatible with Google as I've heard? Things like Google maps, calendar, mail, etc.? Are you locked into the Apple services?
