Had a guildie tell me last night that he gets lost on the internet and pretty much avoids trying to use it. This was after I told him to check out the web site for the billionth time. And then he told me he couldn't remember his username or password. Which pretty much solidified my musing that he had never ever been to the guild site before. It also explains why he can never EVER keep track of raid time changes.

He also couldn't tell me what kind of operating system he was using on his computer several months ago as well.

Frankly, I can't even figure out how he managed to install WoW if he's that confused by computers.

WTF is happening with the hard drive market? about 6 months ago, I purchased a 1tb samsung spinpoint for less than 70 dollars, nowadays, they're either going for twice that amount or sold out -- and same goes for other hard drives across makes and capacities!@?

99 dollars for a 320 GB hard drive!? WTF?!!??!?!?!?

It might have something to do with the fact that all those Thailand factories which produced 25% of the world's HDDs (and components for a good deal of the remaining 75%) were utterly devastated by the recent floods.

Where are you shopping? I still see good prices at NewEgg and Amazon.

But, if the prices are starting to jack up, I would highly suspect the flooding in Thailand. A lot of factories got wiped out, including WD's factory there. (Same goes for cameras, if you wanted a Nikon or Sony camera, buy it now).

You really have a literacy problem. He said 12:30 pm. Which is in the afternoon. Not 12:30 in the am.

Floods in Taiwan are indeed impacting hard drive prices. I believe some devices may also be delayed.

Asus claims they have only a few months more stock of drives, etc. So yeah, I can understand that hitting us in the wallet. How long do they expect this to last?

Taiwan too?.. or did you mean Thailand... :o

But I saw good prices on some Hitachi drives.

Margins are so thin in that market they are likely looking for any excuse to make some extra money anyway.

They're still going for 30-40 dollars or so more than they were going for about 6-8 months ago.

Well, the Nikon plant in Thailand looks like this... and I believe the Western Digital plant is nearby.

Can't muster the will to return to my WoW blog. I'm a bit tired of people all around, with my job being very heavy these last two months.

Further, I'm also in discussion to write for another WoW blog, so I'm not even certain if it has any sense write for my own right now.
But at least If i switch boats, I'll be in a perfect place to help one of the big (french) newcomers \o/

Found out I only have 140 pets on my main (tankadin), and despite getting the witchkitty on 5 other characters, I seem to have forgotten to get it on him... Checked what I still could get, and found out it's either gonna cost me weeks, or I'll have to cough up about 10k gold to get to 150 pets

starting to feel a bit down, which sucks. And allthough I know the reason, which is something I cannot change so shouldn't bother with fretting about, I can't shed the thoughts. Blegh.
And one of the building project I've worked on is going rampage in the execution phase, what could result in A LOT of extra work, I don't feel like doing. Argh!

Can I just go home now?

Pinched a nerve in my neck... can't turn my head to the right, left or up, and holding my head straight is still somewhat painful, with the pain shooting from the back of my right ear, down the neck, to the right collarbone...

gonna be a long day...
