I suppose I should answer the OP. 1st character I created on opening day was a human pally took me about 8 days to lvl to 45 as I had nfi, but I do remember that it was oh so boring. I hated pallies for that reason until I created my Belf.

I have actually resurrected him from his 2 years swimming with the fish in STV and moved him to the server I am now on. I need help as once I lvl him I will have 3 lvl 70 pallies.

I've played a paladin since live launch, and I was total noob when I started, quick corrolation per raid instance :

Molten Core

I'm a healer? errr ok. Cleanse x 500000 per MC raid, blessing 40 people every 5 mins, someone afk before pull, do it again, yay. Had a little "tanking" experience here tanking Domo together with our mt.. basicly judging fury and hitting him with holy dmg every time he resets aggro.

BWL

omg no debuffs to cleanse thank fuck for that (apart from chrommagus), we're still rather poor healers at the start of bwl, but then again we're poorer dps and even worse tanks. They introduced the +healing and mp5 stats around the time BWL opened (were extremely poor baseline healers as you know) so we got better progressivly

AQ40 Topping healing meters, I am awesome, I love healing, yay! the dawn of 6+ holy paladins per raid is upon us, other specs still abysmal.

Naxxramas Same as aq40 untill patch 2.0 hit. Yay I'm topping dps as ret who wouldve thought.

One week later... aww way to nerf ret :<
Meanwhile Holy paladins got even more powerfull with 2.0 landing, right here you got to the point where you could spam top rank hl for the entire duration of a fight, given you're geared in t3, and this continued on quite a bit into the opening of ssc/tk.
There was a propper tanking spec, yay! But wait.. where's the gear?? :<
