Warcraft Movie

Postby Decadere » Thu May 26, 2016 12:43 am

After watching it yesterday, I have to say this review is spot on. Don't listen to the rest of the garbage the other critics are saying. It's a good movie.

To be honest the movie critics (not just related to WC) seemb to live in a completely different world. I've seen great moves treated as trash, and movies with max critic votes being seen or liked by noone, many times.

Remember, Critics watch so much that they often get "exclusive" - like whats "different" - while the actual audiences generally like the same formula over and over again (there is a reason it's taught in film schools).
Main Characters:
Nooska, Blood Elf BM/SV Hunter on Argent Dawn (EU)
Morosin, Bloody freezing orc death knight on Argent Dawn (EU)
Niisca, Shady forsaken "priest" on Argent Dawn (EU)

I just got back from seeing the film. I was expecting it to be godawful (not because of reviews, it just looked like it was going to be bad), but it was actually okay. It's not great cinema by far, but it's entertaining enough; it's a light fantasy adventure and doesn't try to be more than that.

My thoughts exactly.

Just saw it last night, I went in expecting it to be bad and still managed to be disappointed.

That was like... Eragon or The Last Airbender levels of bad.

I liked it... but I was expecting a lot more nods to the fans. Where the heck were paladins??

I don't think the Order of the Silver Hand was founded until after the First War.

The part with the orcs were good, but every human (and Garona) was horribly miscast.

Horde bias is alive and well, I guess. :)

The worst part of the movie was Wrynn's awful wig.

Still haven't seen it. No real desire to. The salt runs deep.

Its a pretty okay movie.

I'm not so deep into lore that I could tell you where it deviated and where it collided or ran with existing lore (and at the same time, blizz retcons lore so often - or so it fells like - that it doesn't really matter).

I found the viewings of know characters very interesting, I mean several of them we have met/befirended/rivalled/battled in WoD, so yeah.

GF that isn't a massive fan (she plays/played) still found it good enough.

I'd say its a solid film, made over a proven schematic with an existing fanbase that it primarily caters to.

I'll give it 3 out of 5 stars

The movie actually resparked my love for WoW, I haven't played for about a year and after watching it I went back on the game the next day. It is a good movie, do not listen to the bad reviews, take a watch and judge for yourself.
