In WoD certain quest / rep / drop rewards can be upgraded through a quest or a turn in into more powerful versions several ilvls higher.

Actually, I just remember them randomly upgrading on their own. Like killing a rare mob and seeing the loot window pop up with an epic version of the loot or turning in a quest which showed an uncommon/green reward only to receive a rare or epic version of the item.

You forgot the lead designed of D3 is who worked on WoD. Didn't the RNg into RNG into RNG of raid loots ring a bell? ;)

Honestly? If you're in old normal/current heroic SoO gear you likely won't see any upgrades until late in Nagrand or after you start gearing up at 100, anyway from what I remember. It's just a nice perk, not something to game plan around. Heck, I was still using my heirloom weapon on beta until one of my garrison scenarios gave me a 645 epic weapon.

yeah...i mean we have been through this how many times now?
our end game raid gear will get us through most of the leveling process, if not all of it til we start gearing up for the next end game

it will mostly come in for alts and those who dont play as much as we do at the end game

Yeah, same as every expansion so far.

T2 gear from classic lasted until 66, T3 was used in Karazhan.
T6 gear from TBC was used in Naxxramas in WotLK
T10 gear was used right up to raiding in Cataclysm
Heroic DS gear was usable up to MoP raiding
Mythic SoO gear will be usable in normal mode level 100 dungeons.

I'm aware of that, I just hate RNG

That said, I still don't know if I should keep JC or switch to BS.

The one you like most, as all perks are gone now.

Well, yeah...

BS can help me fill in spots in major gear spots and weapons, JC can help me with accessories, which can have Bonus armor.

JC's probably better for making the cash to buy the crafted gear from other players. ;)

With no reliable source of gemslots on gear, the gem market is gonna crash.

i still cant figure out why the hell they did that....
gemming your gear has been just part of gearing up for what the past 8 years?
i guess its part of the loot and equip thing they are going for, but when you get a new item with a gem slot bonus you will still need to get a gem for it now
basically it comes down to a big FU to all the JCs imo

There will still be gear that comes with sockets on it as stock. A bonus prismatic socket is added like Warforged is right now.

It's part of their "reduce gear complexity" plan. Enchanting also took a decent hit as enchants are much fewer this exp.

Did they drop more enchant slots? I thought all they took out was the Enchanter-only ring slot.

I think in WoD we will only have enchants for rings, amulets and weapons.
