Indeed. Some of these guys are so old that rock salt would be new-fangled-technology...

...when I was your age, if we wanted to run a dungeon, we walked there, and if someone left, we found another guy and waited 'til *they* walked there, and it was always uphill. Brings me back to my childhood days when we were poor. When we needed shoes, Pa went out hunting and before you know it he was back tying boar pelts to our feet. We ran around all day until Ma called us in for spider leg stew...and though you wouldn't think it, my old man had to kill about 3-4 spiders just to get *one* leg that was good enough to eat. Any you know what? We were *grateful*, I tell you. Kids these days, they'll complain about anything, what's this world coming to?

There's a distressing omission of snow in that paragraph.

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic ... age=15#290 wonder how long it took to learn Blue Speak...
We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.

Speaking of Old-timers, Dorvan and some of the others have had Pali's so long when they started, WoW was being played on an abicus.
Pali tanking then evolved through MUD's , which was hard as a Pali, due to typing in "I tank the mobs" the server divided by 0 and crashed.
Was the Wild f%|{'ing West back then.

Not sure if I count as an "old-timer" since I mostly lurk and come and go quite a bit, but my paladin is about to celebrate his 9th birthday, just a could of weeks post release.

He would've been the day of release, but it took me a bit to get DSL at my house so my wife and I could play at the same time, and when we got it installed we re-rolled together.

That's right. I've been playing so long that I used to play on dail-up.

I don't think that quite beats an abicus... ;)
