Could be. I had just installed NPCScan and I was hunting rares at the time. I had deleted my cache folder to start out fresh, so possibly related.

Mine did that as well Friday night during raid.. haven't seen the problem since.

Vengeance Changes clarification posted this evening/afternoon/morning depending on where in the world you live:

Daxxarri wrote:There has been some confusion about the recent changes to Vengeance that we’d like to clear up. Two things have changed with Vengeance lately:

  • Oct 8 - Vengeance should now ramp up more quickly. Avoidance will now grant Vengeance based on the average damage of the avoided NPC auto-attack, instead of just refreshing existing Vengeance. This does not apply to enemy special attacks.
There should be an addition to this: Vengeance was also reduced by 10% at the time that hotfix was noted. We apologize for that being missed in the patch notes. Vengeance now accrues at a rate of 1.8% of damage taken, down from 2.0%.

  • Oct 16 - Fixed an issue with the way that Vengeance is calculated that could cause very large but infrequent spikes of damage to grant much more than the intended amount of Vengeance.

Based on the hits a tank takes, Vengeance attempts to predict what 50% of average Vengeance for that level of incoming damage will be, and bumps the tank straight to that level. However, it previously based that calculation on a 1.5 second attack speed. It now bases the calculation on the enemy’s auto attack speed for auto attacks, and a 60 second interval for special attacks.

Tanks will still get the expected amount of Vengeance from the damage taken. This change just means that the first hit from a slow-attacking boss will bump Vengeance straight up to the expected amount.

So am I reading this correctly?
Old version = you take 2 mill damage, you get vengeance as if you would keep taking that ammount of damage.
New version = When you take a damage spike, it averages the damage out over the past 60sec, and then gives you vengeance.
Or what am i missing?

Basically they completely negating the "oh i will eat a stupid hit to have stupid vengeance and win the meters".

Fine by me.

Not completely, but instead of getting 600k, you get 100k, so you do still get a bit out of it, its just not really worth as much.

80 for first random hc, 40 for first scenario, then half for the following.

Instead of 60 and 30.
I guess more is nice, since capping is pretty annoying once you stop doing all dailys.

Looks like they've changed run speed while dead again. We're running at 165% in spirit form now.

Did the guild bonus increase or is that a base increase?

You're not crazy. It was hotfixed to a 7 min Berserk instead of 6 min.

I was hoping my threats of cutting people where they pee made the DPS step it up, but nope ... stealth nerf. Bah.

THey also made it so that his Mend Leg is Faster and his Crush is "slower" (I'm guessing more delay between the passing and the Crush? I'll have to see during raid).

They just nerfed normal mode Elegon - hard.

Elegon

In the normal mode version of this encounter, Cosmic Sparks will deal less melee damage, Elegon will now use Materialize Protector less often, and the Overloaded effect that Elegon gains when an Empyreal Focus is destroyed now grants significantly less haste.

From what I've heard and seen, that encounter has been blocking progression for a lot of people, nerfs were inevitable IMO.

For one thing, the DPS check - if you get the 3rd and 4th elemental adds in the 100-85 and 85-50 boss damage phases you will most likely hit the hard enrage, if you don't die earlier.

That too. Show a raider a way to fall to his/her deaths and they turn into a lemming.

The hotfixes don't appear to be live in the EU. We were still getting a 3rd add close to the phase change.

(We're only stuck on Elegon because we haven't had a chance to work on it, with low attendance. We got very close, I'm certain we'll kill it tomorrow. 2nd phase seems like it'll be a pushover if we get into it with everyone alive.)

Last phase may be an issue the first 2 or 3 times for the healers (at leats if its a 10) as everyone suddenly requires more healing.

Have you tried leaving a couple of dps on Elegon while the rest takes the boss (we left me, BM hunter - too much dps lost from pet moving - and one of our warlocks on Elegon (while dotting up the add if he could reach it) and actually started being too fast - pushing draw power before the second add was down.

We had it down to 2 adds first time we were in there; think our dps was just a little lower this week.

It was. My guild was stuck there for a few weeks. If you looked at wowprogress, you would see guilds stuck at 4/6, and a lot of them stacking there, after which they quickly went to 6/6 2/6, and started stacking up there... >.>
