Actually I find pretty wierd that amongst my (pretty huge) friendlist, there's only two people playing Witch Doctor and one playing Sorcerer.

Re: Diablo III - who's in?
my friendlist is pretty much full on witch doctors
And a lot of barbarians.
I was thinking of making a monk first, but somehow it seemed like everyone would go monk, and I dont wanna play what everyone else plays, now it seems like very few of my friends actually are monks xD
Altho lots of barbarians, not a single one at 60 other than me

My friend's list is pretty well spread out; although no witch doctors.

I'm trying Witch Doctor just now, after getting an inkling that there's various almost completely different ways to play it which are viable above Normal difficulty level.
I probably wouldn't have bothered had I not read about those, because at low levels it's just kind of... weird. Not good weird, either.

My monk was power levelled through Act 1 last night. Before the power levelling, though, it was two of us taking on the Skeleton King, and we were never close to dying.

Normal mode is relatively easy. Didn't have much of an issue until the friggin Sand Wasps in act 2 but significant hate in Act 3. Nightmare is when it picks up as all the rares and champions have two abilities instead of one. However unlike WoW bosses aren't the be all end all of the game. They challenge is in the champion and rare packs.
We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.

From my friends perspective, melee look like godmode at Normal but get progressively harder and paperish while you progress in harder difficulties.
Now that I actually got a proper weapon I'm enjoying aoeing mobs on my WD
I'm still quite uncertain about summons though. Love the fetish summoning passive and the army of the fetishes, they are aggro magnet and noone cares if they die. The Gargantuan on the other hand is wierd, tanks decently but his damage is pretty much laughable. The dogs are complete garbage.

I'm currently lvl 21, Normal Act II (just rescued Adria.) Is that high/low/about average?
On my one toon that has gotten there so far, I finished Act IV Normal at level 32, and that toon is now level 39 on the way to Alcarnus in Act II Nightmare.
I'm an explorer type, so that was explore everything, break/pick up everything possible, investigate every side dungeon.

I'm curious to see what the class distribution turns out to be, when they make those numbers available.
I have zero interest in playing a witchdoctor. They could have made it more unappealing somehow, but I'm honestly not sure how. Maybe leprosy.
