It wasn't *this* bad when I took a break 6 months ago. Sure some bosses were often wipefeasts (Garrosh, Horridon, Spoils, stuff like that), but it was usually a handful bosses in the whole tier. Wiping at Immerseus LFR really demoralized me there.

This year's Worldcon, Loncon3, starts on Thursday, and they just sent out details on registration to all their members. Only, because of a fuckup on (I assume) their software to automatically fill in personalised details on form emails, they sent everyone's details to every member. This Worldcon has thousands of attending members. It's the single longest email I've ever seen; just the same message repeated over and over with each person's name and member number.

Edit: okay, apparently it only went out to a small number, amd it only included details for all members with a number below your own.

I was playing a bit of Hearthstone trying out my priest buff deck. We're both exchanging quite evenly and get to 10 mana with mid 20 health on both heros. Turn 9 I have 1 mana left at the end of my turn and a Mind Vision. Drop it and get Deathwing... oooh. Next turn opponent drops said Deathwing, discarding his hand and otherwise clearing the board. Only thing in my hand, Deathwing, BAM his DW goes in the bin without getting a shot off and he has no cards to deal with my stolen one.

My niece was asking me where she can get an epic weapon for her retadin. I told her that, far as I'm aware, she'd have to go into LFR.

Then my warrior got a polearm from the Heroic Deeds quest (first heroic scenario completed). Next night, my DK gets a 2h mace...

Last night was very strange, and nostalgic.

Back in Wrath, there was a DK that I was levelling my druid with. And by that, I mean, I'd run off and pull everything I reasonably could, run back to him while healing myself, and let him kill them all.

Then, in ICC, my co-tank was a different DK. It was always very smooth and easy tanking, and communication was awesome.

The first one disappeared just before Cataclysm started; the other about mid-Cataclysm.

They both logged back in last night.

:)

Welcome back then! I've been out of the serious game since finishing DS in Cata, so I can kind of relate. There's a really unique feel to tanking, miss it quite a bit. I came back to mess about casually a little this winter, but didn't stick around.

You should really check out the Challenge Mode dungeons though, had a fantastic time doing them with some old friends.

Some of my guildies seem to have no sense of geography.

The guildies up in Johannesburg are having a big meetup next weekend and I was told in no uncertain terms that I'd be flying up for it (well, as guild leader, I kind of don't have a choice). Anyways, I had this conversation with one of them yesterday:

"Kel... I've got a friend in Cape Town who's got a second-hand graphics card for me. Would you be able to pick it up for me and bring it up with you?"
"Sure. Where do I have to go?"
(after some time) "She's in Worcester."
"Erm... you do know that's 115 km away from me, right?"

So, I'm roadtripping tomorrow.

That giant GamerGate thing? I'm surprised there hadn't been a peep about it here yet.

I don't think I am a gamer, but he is a self-righteous douchebag. And the whole gamer gate are just game bloggers, errrr journos, currently in circle the wagons mentality.

Not saying the whole Quinn/sarkessian harassment is ok, far from it, but valid criticism is dismissed by bloggers like Sacco and actual game news sites are blacklisting anything, dismissing it as the rambling of manchild neckbeards.
