Funniest thing about that whole story, of course: The blogger was taken to court because her review title ("The place to avoid: Il Giardino in Cap-Ferret") showed up 4th in Google searches. Now? The 3rd result is a post about the lawsuit titled "Is Il Giardino in Cap-Ferret the worst restaurant in France".

You'll be amused to know I just Googled "Il Giardino in Cap-Ferret" and "Is Il Giardino in Cap-Ferret the worst restaurant in France?" is the #1 hit. The second hit is TripAdvisor giving it 2 stars.

First hit is tripadvisor (.dk) with a review of 3.5
Second hit is a BBC news story about a french blogger being fined, and 3rd is the boingboing.net article

This made me giggle.

I got a friend request from bnet, i accepted and asked who he was, no reply. A min after he goes offline and changes his bnet name in GMsomething.

They came up with something new.... I guess I can start reporting all those friend requests now.

So, people are upset that a video game tournament is aired on ESPN, but cool with texas hold 'em poker.

Could have to do with exposure.

For example, I and everyone I know has played at least some version of poker (including my 9-year-old daughter) or is at the very least familiar with all of the cards and their relative values. I and everyone I know can infer what cards would be useful to any of the displayed hands, understand the objective of the game, and at least some of the strategy.

On the other hand, I can't tell you what "DOTA" stands for, have no understanding of which things on screen were player-controlled and which were NPCs, which things was on who's team, what the objective was, or if any team was reaching the objective.

I also enjoyed that pink razor blade at the bottom of the page.

Also?

Got a blast from the past (for us young'uns) today when this randomly went on the radio:

There's a whole reddit dedicated to mixing Space Jam with other songs, some obviously better than others.

So, I have a coworker that was convinced to join us (which meant I had to resub after 7 months, but whatever). She prepurchased Warlords, and boosted a 90 hunter at my recommendation, based on her past WoW experience, her expectations, and what she really wanted to do.

Then my roommate ("I am not a hunter!") proceeded to confuse her so badly that she started getting frustrated ("This was a mistake!"). And he made it worse, "Talk to Ami, she plays a hunter decently." Which was followed by me, "Uh, YOU suggested to her that she play Beastmaster. YOU explain it to her, I don't play it."

(His explanation of hunters, summarized. "Beastmasters are good because their pets do a lot of damage, the other two are okay but their pets don't do as much damage. Your big attack is Kill Command. Just shoot things. Okay, let's go do a scenario." Wow, an amazing 13k DPS from her 'cause of that nonsense.)

So last night, I had to do a Hunter Training Seminar for both of them. "Here's what each spell will do, here are examples in which you would use them, here are the training dummies, go practice until the rotation feels natural." I gave them a Misdirection macro, explained how to use it and what it does, they tested it.

Once they were decently comfortable, we head to the Timeless Isle to get her some of the purples. But she keeps dying somehow. I'm thinking she just hasn't learned to react to the environment yet.

Nope, turns out that my roommate was misdirecting everything to her, since she was his focus and so the macro was misdirecting to her.

She was cussing him out once she found out.
