So, you agree with Rush?...

The New Testament, followed to it's truest values, would make today's bleeding heart liberal side look like the Tea Party.

But really, if you look at his statements, they might smell of what we think is Marixism, but it's not, because the mechanisms to achieve it would be very very different.

Agreed.

Caring for the poor and condemning greed does not a Marxist make.

Finally caved in and upgraded to Windows 8.1

First thing I did? Install classic shell.

I am a Mac user but have a Bootcamp partition for Windows gaming. I use Parallels VM software for maintaining a work needed Windows environment. One neat thing it does is it is able to use a Bootcamp partition as a virtual machine drive so I can do light Windows gaming and can install stuff while booted into the Mac side. It also includes a free copy of Start8 for their "Act like Windows 7" option for Windows 8 virtual machines, it carries over so I basically get it for free.

Do people actually use the start menu that much? Ever since getting windows 7, I'd just hit the windows key, type the program name, and hit enter. Much faster than clicking through three or four menus, and that functionality remains identical in win8.

I tend to use programs and folders pinned to the taskbar more than anything. Being able to open my recently used documents/folders/Steam games with two clicks is pretty convenient.

I do that for my most frequently used programs/files.

My roommate and I are watching X-Men: First Class last night. As usual, I start nitpicking it apart.

"You know, this whole Alex Summers thing isn't even right - he's the younger brother of Scott Summers, who is a student of Professor Xavier, not a contemporary."

"No, that's Havok. Havok was Scott's dad."

"No, you're thinking of Christopher, who was also called Corsair."

"Oh yeah...WAIT A MINUTE, HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS?!"

I had read it a couple days ago, I thought it was a fake, instead it got actually confirmed.

As a current LoL player I look forward to see what he will bring to the game!

http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2014/01/13/ ... tor/?_r=2&

In court filings, Apple has made much of the $1,100 hourly fee charged by Mr. Bromwich, who runs his own consulting firm and is also a litigation partner with Goodwin Procter.

The company points to the $138,432 legal bill Mr. Bromwich submitted for his first two weeks of work as evidence he is using his appointment to run an unwieldy and unfair investigation. The company notes that because Mr. Bromwich’s consulting firm is separate from Goodwin Procter, he has to hire lawyers from other firms to work with him and also charge a 15 percent administrative fee for his services.

But Judge Cote observed on Monday that “lawyers get paid a lot of money.”

She also pointed to a recent article in The National Law Journal that said it was not uncommon for top lawyers at a large law firm to bill clients at a rate of $1,000 an hour. Judge Cote noted that one lawyer at Gibson Dunn, one of the firms representing Apple, billed at a rate of $1,800 an hour.

...

Judge Cote reminded Apple and its lawyers that it did not have much bargaining room when it came to the role of the monitor.

“Apple is no position to define the scope of the monitor’s duties,” said Judge Cote, who said she would soon issue a written decision that would amplify on her ruling at the hearing. “I want the monitorship to be a success for Apple.”
