I wonder how much someone has to hate themselves to get their news from Kotaku.

Only Gawker site worth reading is Deadspin and that's mostly because the people in the comments are the worst people on earth and make me laugh.

Right, gathering up.

Shoju, could we get a map to your warehouse, so we know where to gather when the zombie apocalypse hits?

Nooska, I'm sure you'll find all the aircraft fuel you need in Shoju's Warehouse O' Goods.

Nah, we have to keep all the fuel in a self contained building out back. Can't have that stuff in the building. That would be.... "furreal bad".

If you have a zombie apocalypse army chasing you, you either run or be eaten. That should be incentive enough to get there, fuel or no.

One of the things that always make me wonder... can zombies effectively climb a very steep mountain to reach a rather remote cabin? or reach a small island in the middle of a huge lake or sea? If you're already living an isolated life from modern day life, the chances of getting affected by a zombie outbreak should be close to zero.

As explained in the World War Z book survivors would start seeking out those remote locations. Where survivors go zombies follow. So the survivors would lead the zombies to your mountain top cabin.

And considering zombies don't *breathe*, water isn't much of an annoyance...

Which is why I'm headed here. I have everything I need here, except for the Pharmacy I will have to knock off on the way here for my wife. I have 10 skids of the "survival meals" (5 gallon bucket of freeze dried just add water and cook) that supposedly feed 6 people for a week.

With the out building having an inventory of various flammable liquids (that wasn't a joke, we have a little bit o' everything to test the mutlifuel systems), the copious amounts of other things, and the ability to fortify the building with minimal entrance and exit points, I'm set.

The only potential drawback is the run off tunnel... I'll have to learn how to weld so that I can weld those grates into place, and create an emergency escape hatch.

In the WWZ book it was mentioned that beaches are off limits due to precisely that reason!

Yeah, still, I dont see how zombies can climb in the first place -- they often stumble around on flat surfaces... now imagine going up the face of a mountain... I don't see them having enough dexterity anything that has a 30º slope.

Also... they might not breathe, but how could they reach a remote island? are they gonna walk? either water pressure would render immobile or water currents would sweep them away into the Sargasso island

So, why the assumption that zombies will suddenly stumble around physically impaired just because they're zombies? What if they retain the physical abilities they had in life? Then you'd be screwed by the mountain climbing zombies, or the swimming zombies, or...

they could just get a boat.

Ok, so zombisim suddenly makes you stumble around, as well as having a craving for red meat and brains.

They could still get a boat. You could have a massive rowboat-mada show up on your beach.

they would someone still need somehow to have enough motor skill to prepare a boat, climb into the boat and whatnot...

Nah. Rowboats. They could yank their arms off and use them as oars.

Or they could be floating aimless until a hurricane comes along and dumps them on your tiny remote island.

If a hurricane dumps them on my tiny remote island, I'd say "well, they earned it"

Zombies have to decay at one point or another, they have a limited shelf life of sorts... it just gets to a point that once there has been no new infections for a long enough period of time, you're over the bump.

As I've never been a fan of zombies, I'll have to take your word on it.

Though this makes me want to start watching Supernatural again.

I just got back into that show. I watched the first season and a half when it first aired and just could not get into it. For whatever reason (probably time filler since I quit WoW) I decided to start watching it and blazed through the first three season in three weeks or so. Totally hooked now. Was trying to get caught up by the 8th season premiere in October but I don't think that'll be possible now. Especially since we just got Dragon's Crown are playing that all night, every night now.

Oh yeah, I remember being hooked way back in the first season, and only got to episode...3? in season 2 before I missed a few because of vacation or something. I didn't like watching it out of order, and then just kinda fell to the way side.

Jensen Ackles as cocky Dean always makes me giggle, for some reason.
