I remember the guys constantly getting bloodied and shit, and it being more acrobatic... it was more raw than WWE raw. =P

I don't watch much of that stuff (I do wrestle though, maybe watch the occasional highlights from wrestling competitions or MMA matches), but from comments by my friends who do, you see some more interesting stuff at the lower levels basically because there isn't nearly as much money on the line... but far more relative to the people involved's income.

Also, IIRC, there is still a Japanese submission wrestling circuit(s?) that is less 'theatrical' than the US franchises. Some MMA fighters have come out of there if I remember right.

Yeah I'm more of a fan now of the independent promotions or Japanese pro wresting (Puroresu). American pro wrestling (at least WWE) isn't as much about actual wrestling as it seems to be a television show now which obviously makes for a never ending stream of gifs.

Independent wrestling is sort of like college sports in a way. The people involved aren't doing it so much for the money but more to secure a future for themselves when they move on which makes it really fun to watch because they're also not governed by as many restrictions.

So, last night's installment: the priests decided to get revenge on the pallies (that's me) for publically mocking them, and decided to try to life grip me into the path of Ji-Kun's Snails of Death. Thing is, I was expecting that, so I made sure that when a snail was out, I (1) positioned myself where I could see both priests and snails, and (2) had Speed of Light available.

Needless to say, everytime they tried that little trick, it resulted in "Why hasn't Kel died yet... *SPLAT*".

(They did, however, successfully kill a rogue that way this time!)

Are you talking about the aerosol spray, or the medieval bludgeoning weapon? (either provides a hilarious mental image)

The spray. And indeed is a funny mental image, which is why I put it under amusements

Time to reset the clock on last time since a 787 Dreamliner has been grounded.

I wonder if any of the 787s on order have been cancelled in the wake of these problems.

Not sure abut that. I know the 747 still sells pretty well as it was upgraded recently. And its not the first time a plane has been plagued by issues, like the DC-10. Thing is, the reason why the dc-10 had a bad reputation in its early years is that it actually had a fatal accident thanks to a bad door design.

Nowadays, the dc-10 has a comparable safety record to other planes seen as pretty safe, like the 757.

What the 787 has in its favor is that there has not been any loss of life due to its problems.

Now, it should also be noted that part of the problem of the 787 is the information age we live in, in which news travel across the globe in seconds and quickly becomes memetic as it spreads across the people connected to the internet.

So, the French underwear industry might go the way of the French deodorant industry
