I know at least one woman who proudly uses the bare-midriff/metal thong look on her DK.

I mentioned it looked chilly. Her response? "IT'S NOT FOR WIMPS!" :P

The entire company is being shut down (no-one goes out).

Reason? One. FREAKING. Stolen IPhone.

EDIT: Belgium, land of surrealism - the HR manager is *surprised* the two policemen that just arrive are not allowed to search people's belongings. What's next body searchs? Grab the plastic gloves!

Apparently, they had located the phone inside the premises of the company.
Also, they found it in the women toilet's waste basket. Thief probably panicked when the police showed up.

Still, all-around lol-worthy

Apparently my RL had a dream where the entire raid team were characters in an office sitcom.

The cost of smartphones push one stolen phone into felony theft area. Pretty sure I'd want a lock down if people were stealing high money items from my work.

Dunno, locking 200+ people for an hour because of theft sounds more like schoolyard method than a serious approach.

A school yard ball isn't $500+ and containing potentially much more valuable information/data.

Yeah, not knowing the context of your work, I'll provide an anecdote of my own:

I have a friend who works for IT security for a company. They all get smart phones as part of the gig. Said smartphones are assumed to have the same level of information as their work computers and therefore get the same level of security. One aspect of this is that up to Two mis-entries of the unlock code within some period of time sends a flag to the phone security folks. The third wipes all data on the phone (I think turning it into a doorstop until a new OS is loaded).

Would my employer (a different company, sure) lock the doors to my building for my lappy getting stolen? No, absolutely not. But I don't have nearly the same kind of information or accesses that he does.

IF it was a company device.. a lockdown for a personal device sounds like a false imprisonment and unlawful search lawsuit minefield.

Oh man, if it was a personal device? Especially if the call to lock down was made by the person whose phone it was and also happened to have the power to do it (i.e. abuse of position)?

I'd not want to be anywhere nearby when the legal nuke hit... though it may well be a bit different outside the US.

It was (a personal device - EDIT). Not from anyone in power, though.

The best part was the CPS's call to the Police Chief complaining that they were being mocked.

They are deservedly being mocked for insisting to have the dog testify after being told that, well, it was a DOG!!!

So we finally did an alt run this weekend. One of the raiders alts is a pretty geared fury warrior and our guild leader was saying how if we were bad at our alts at least this guy could carry us. Well as it turns out we all know how to play our alts and the 485 ilvl fury warrior was 4th or 5th dps behind all us 475ilvl dps.
