The other nice thing about establishing yourself as the guild BS is that you should be able to get first shot at new patterns that drop.
Also remember that the orbs will be BOE in 4.3, so the recruits can farm them themselves.

Though, in a guild group, you guarantee that it's going to benefit the guild, which is also cool.
