that's the risk, but you still have two picks in the first round... the one that you got from the other team and the one granted to you by the system, so you go twice in the first round, unless you trade one of your first round picks for something else...

It's also why a pick next year is, generally speaking, worth one round less than a pick this year. Team A would trade its 2nd-round pick this year for Team B's first-round pick next year.

So if I have 1st round pick this year and I trade it to some team with 2nd round or later, how do I know that next year they'll actually have a pick worth trading back to me? What if they do really well and they're like, last round pick?

Well, if it's Clevland or Oakland, you'll have a pretty good idea of where the pick will rank.

The other factor is the quality of the draft class each year.

Assuming it's not actually an oblique.. which would be a death sentence from a fantasy perspective for a power hitter.

Because, Like I said, there was nothing to assume at the point that I replied. Every news outlet has run the same story

Shoulder Bruise. Not an oblique.

At least there'll be a half decent replacement when some punter goes down with an Achilles.
We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.

Wizards wiki article was edited with a slur about Jason Collins.

You could tell it was altered from the start when it claimed the Wizards were an actual NBA team.

Holy Hell! Angel Hernandez must be an Indians fan. How can you get that wrong even after reviewing it?

That was... well.... eh... Ok. Let me play devil's advocate for a moment.

I've seen 3 different camera angels of the home run. It was clearly a home run. But of the three camera angles I've seen, Only one shows you that it hits the railing. The other two, make it look as though the ball dips and hits the wall as it comes back in.

But there is the angle that shows it clearly. It was a home run.

It's a shitty way to get a win.

Click on the Peter Gammons bit, it is very interesting to see him talk about how Joyce became a sort of pariah among his peers for admitting he fucked up the Galarraga call, where some other umps were even saying Joyce should be banned from the game for admitting he messed up.

So it might not be Bud Selig, but the Ump union.

There was another one in the Angels-Houston game, while closer, was still wrong, AND they got it wrong after the review...

(oh, and yeah, my Angels totally suck... not a great feeling for the season to already be over, they are not going to climb out of this hole, and there are no signs their pitchers have any bit of the skill needed to do that...)

So apparently, Angel Hdz didnt overturn the call as a protest to the Instant Replay thing.

So, I guess that makes Angel Hernandez the equivalent of Jeff Kaplan and his hatred for paladins =P

My speakers are dead here at work, so I can't watch video, but if that's the case, then he needs to be removed as an ump.
