Thank God. I hope he gets a shot again, but with someone that will give him an actual chance. Look for him to sign a very incentive-laden contract.

If not, ESPN can always hire him and partner him with Ray Lewis, and do a sunday morning special called The Sinner and The Saint, maybe even solve crime together as well.

Some comments on Jason Collins coming out as gay:
- That makes him the third gay wizard, right behind gandalf and dumbledoore.
- I can't imagine the shame his family and loved ones are feeling; to have somebody so close to you humiliate you by openly admitting you're...a Washington Wizard.

Of course, the fact that he was cut after the draft means that he's got a lot harder chance of finding a gig, but the Jets would have tipped their hand in the draft, so...

Even at work, when they crack some gay jokes, sometimes they imply im gay, so i just turned it up in them and say... Well, you didnt complain about me putting it up your ass last night, and things like that.

Not really. He's a bad basketball player with little to no time left in the league.

You underestimate the spin machine. Look for howls of protest if he doesn't get resigned. It's actually the ultimate get-another-two-year-deal card.

The one thing I don't get about Tebow is that he was never that good of a QB. Sure, he did some good things with Uni of Florida, but when he passed the draft up and played another year, he really screwed himself. Now he's cut hoping some team picks him as a QB. I've always felt he should have gone as a half back or a tight end. Heck, he turned down options to try out at tight end.

I just don't see him getting any thing further out of his football career he has envisioned for himself.

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, Smith was under the impression that he should be and would be the No. 1 overall pick of the draft.

Well the sources for the first part are obviously the fired agents so take their talking points with a huge dose of doubt.

Deadspin's rundown basically jives with my own gut feeling about it.

Also league executives talk shit about prospects all the time to talk their draft position down so they can sign them for less money when it is their time to pick.

I'm sure that one guy int he 7th round from a DII school that baffled everyone was happy we picked him.

That's pretty much what it is.

Educated guessing based on college performance and interviews.

Players picked in round 1 and often times round 2 are expected to be starters in their rookie year, if they aren't it can be considered a bust. Rounds 3 and on are projects, players you use as backups and on special teams while they get groomed for replacing aged veterans. But you probably knew all of that so I'll leave this here. Mel Kiper sucks at draft rankings just like everyone else.

Record and assorted tiebreakers if tied.

The way the NFL is set up a team can turn around from being very bad to being very good quickly through drafting and free agency. Unfortunately sometimes are seemingly cursed to always be bad.
