I saw a great quote on ESPN (shocker!) this week about the Manti Teo hoax, and his draft stock falling. The article was about how far Teo will fall in the aftermath of this whole bizarre saga. One commentor said:

"Other players have killed people, raped women, been busted for drugs and committed various other felonies. But for some sports fans, having a fake girlfriend is where they draw the line."

It's a little depressing how true this is.

Yeah... but even if people call out the players that were involved in murders, his fans will just tell you we shouldn't bring it up any more. *cough ray lewis cough*

A lot of those were pretty good, but I was kind of disappointed with the Steelers version.

Already hearing speculation about PEDs after the combine this last week, particularly the 40 times.

Not that I'm surprised but it bums me out.

I read and article on ESPN about him restructuring that said his skill at the no huddle was unsurpassed.

Uh... Have they heard of Peyton Manning? NO ONE is better at the No Huddle. NO ONE

Typical east coast bias from ESPN, nothing new.

Isn't the Patriots offense built around the no huddle and quick play calling?

I wonder how bad is Te'o's stock considering that Honey Badger seemed to impress more at the combine despite spending a year in rehab.

Maybe the Browns can make a move on Cassel!

Also I sure hope the 49ers don't become Jets west.

Isn't that a smart trade? There's no real long-term QB prospect in this draft, and Alex Smith is a competent starter. You won't win the Superbowl with him (at least Jim Harbaugh doesn't think so!), but you can be an upper-tier team. It allows the Chiefs to wait until they're in a position to draft a good prospect, and/or take a flyer on less likely prospect, digging for a Kaepernick/Wilson if you like.

Or are you saying it's dumb trade by the niners?

Smart on both sides, but I wonder what the 9ers are gonna do with all the picks they have.
