I think the worst part is that... guess what? Falcons won the game with 30 secs left in the game. Broncos on the other hand, decided to kneel instead. Makes me wonder what coulda have happened...

But it's john fox...

Hey John Fox, see how you can win a game with 30 secs left? See? SEE!? SEEEEEEE!?!?!??!?!?!?

Well the obvious difference there is that Denver wasn't losing at the time. They followed that up with an entire quarter of not being able to score. Atlanta couldn't lose that game in the last 30 seconds, but Denver could, and ultimately that's pretty much how they lost...a pick in their own territory.

I'm ok with that 'cept for two things
-a) Falcons showed Fox how to play with 30 secs left in the clock
-b) Gotta use this avatar for a whole week, all thanks to Pete Carroll =P

After the Broncos' last scoring drive, they went into coasting mode. They started to play as if this game was only one more thing to check in a list of things to do on the way to the SB, rather than do or die like the Ravens were playing.

Again, John Fox' playcalling is so conservative, it could be mistaken for a GOP playbook on how to win an election.

At this point, I'd like to see an Atl vs Hou super bowl. I likely have a better chance of being struck by lightning though.

What I truly fear is a Baltimore vs Atlanta SB. That would be truly hideous, including the 90 minute pregame special of nothing but Lewis dancing, with commentary by the American idol judges.

The only way that could get worse is if they had Beyonce at halftime.

Hated seeing the Ponies lose. God that hurt.

But seeing Klaud with that av for the next 7 days makes it a little better.

Even if they tried to give that away.

The good ol Ponies...

Have the thinnest air in the NFL - draft a QB who can't throw.

Freezes solid in the playoff season - hire a QB who can't win in the cold.

Honestly, I can't see how it could go wrong for them.

I was kidding of course. Wilson is lightning-in-a-bottle for Seattle. The fans love him, he loves Seattle. He's bright, driven, charismatic, and has a work ethic that maybe Jerry Rice could match, but not many others.

I am a HUGE fan of "student of the game" players, so Wilson is basically porn.

He had everything pointing toward massive success except his height, which Seattle decided to take a chance on. Once he was on the team, it was obvious he was going to be something rather unique.

I think he proved to day that he can carry a team if necessary, which is one knock people had against him - that he was only successful because of Seattle's running game. I say look out for Seattle's offense next year, because the only limitation Wilson has is how aggressive his offensive coordinator calls the game.

The Seahawks currently have an embarrassment of riches. It's amazing to me that it was built from effectively nothing in only 3 seasons while drafting, on average, at 15th place (6th, 25th, 15th). Schneider is a freaking genius.

Jason Taylor is a dumbass

“There was a period of a year and a half or two years when I couldn’t put my kids to bed,” he says. “My wife and I laugh about it. You have to bend down. I couldn’t with their weight. I would just hover. I would get as low as I could, and then drop them, and they’d bounce.”
...
The trainer rushed to Taylor’s house. Taylor thought he was overreacting. The trainer told him they were immediately going to the hospital. A test kit came out. Taylor’s blood pressure was so high that the doctors thought the test kit was faulty. Another test. Same crazy numbers. Doctors demanded immediate surgery. Taylor said absolutely not, that he wanted to call his wife and his agent and the famed Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion. Andrews also recommended surgery, and fast. Taylor said, fine, he’d fly out in owner Daniel Snyder’s private jet in the morning. Andrews said that was fine but that he’d have to cut off Taylor’s leg upon arrival. Taylor thought he was joking. Andrews wasn’t. Compartment syndrome. Muscle bleeds into the cavity, causing nerve damage. Two more hours, and Taylor would have had one fewer leg. Fans later sent him supportive notes about their own compartment syndrome, many of them in wheelchairs.
...
The training room? Taylor hated guys who “took up residency” there, calling them “soft.” His mentor, Dan Marino, has a quote up on one of the walls in there, something about how being in the training room doesn’t make you part of the team. Taylor was proud to learn that one of his own quotes has been put up in there, too: Be a player, not a patient. So even the one solitary place designated for healing in football, the one safe haven, is literally surrounded on all sides by walls of voices telling the player to get the hell out of here.

Man it would be amazing if you could somehow come up with a script that when someone submitted a post it was sent to a completely random thread.

Cam Cameron interviewing to be the Jets OC. I'm sure Sanchez could be a great check down passer!

Oh man, I'm in stitches from laughing so hard.

This article on the Browns Site Wrote wrote:Among first-year NFL quarterbacks, Weeden finished in the top five in passing yards, passing first downs (168), and completions of 20 or more yards (48).

Weeden
Luck
RGIII
Russell Wilson
Tannehill
Foles
Lindley
Cousins

So uh... He did better than the 3 guys who only started a handful of games. (Lindley, Cousins, Foles)

Congratulations Weeden. You started 15 games and had better stats than 3 guys who didn't start 15 games combined that's amazing.

That is part of my beef regarding all the criticism regarding Tim Tebow. 2011 Rookies played more than Tim Tebow did in that season. Even combining 2010 and 2011, he started less games than some of the 2011 rookie QBs.

It took two years to pretty much realize that Blaine Gabbert and Colt McCoy suck, and they were allowed to start more games than Tebow.

If Tim Tebow had been given a whole season to prove himself and proves me that he sucks, I'd shut up and pile on him as well, but he has never really gotten the benefit of the doubt.

I know someone was saying that Orton and Gabbert were better QBs because they could throw a proper spiral... I'd say that even tho they know how to throw a spiral on demand, they still suck. Sometimes, dare I say, intangibles matter?

That reminds me, can you get the numbers Orton had during his tenure as a Broncos QB?

Peyton Manning can't throw a spiral, then again Peyton Manning is below average in the playoffs.

So the Gronk really did break his arm again last night, and will require surgery. Ouch.
http://nfl.si.com/2013/01/13/rob-gronko ... t=uk_t2_a3

Also, people are upset in ND cuz Kelly interviewed with the Eagles about the HC position. Pretty understandable.

And Jerry Jones putting pressure on Jason Garret by trying to force him to hire an OC, and fire his brother. I guess he can't bring himself to fire him but wants Garret to quit because he publicly supported Garret towards the end of the season.

He did start 11 games for Denver in 2011. While not a complete season, that's a reasonable sample. He benefited from Denver's decision to play defense halfway through that year, so he was gifted this idea that he can win games, but a sub-50% completion percentage just isn't any good.

Compare to Russell Wilson. Both are mobile, but Wilson is a passer who can run, while Tebow is a runner who can (sort of) pass. Wilson is more accurate and seeks to extend the play rather than just tucking and running.
