At a time when the NFL is so concerned about player safety, why does the league continue to have conversion kicks?

By this measure, parks should outlaw seesaws and slides because a 4 year old tumbled and scrapped its knee...

I agree with what you said later. Guys just mad he lost gronk in fantasy. I am too, but that doesn't mean I want the PAT taken out.

From Yesterday:

Game 1.
Schwartz losing out on the play review because in the heat of the moment he threw the challenge flag is BULLSHIT. They didn't take away TD's when idiots did stupid things celebrating, we shouldn't take away the review because he threw the flag.

Which... Why isn't the play challengeable? Simply because it's a scoring play? That's the dumbest crap ever. LET HIM WASTE THE CHALLENGE ON A PLAY THAT IS AUTO REVIEWED. It shouldn't be your job to make sure that he doesn't do something dumb. You wouldn't stop him from going on it on 4th and 32 from his own 10 when he is winning, why should you stop him from challenging something that it automatically reviewed?

Game 2
I'm so glad that I FREAKING STOLE RGIII in the 8th round of my Fantasy Draft. STOLE HIM! I traded away my second round pick because I STOLE RGIII IN THE 8TH ROUND. Man... RGIII is amazing. Yesterday proved more than anything else, that he is NOT just a running QB. 20-28 311 yds 4td 1 int with only 28 yds rushing, coming on the heels of a 14-15 for 200 yds and 4td game. This is the type of QB that will succeed in the league. The days of Manning/BRady/Wheelchair type QB's who are limited in their mobility is coming to an end in the league. (That last sentence is just personal opinion).

Game 3
My dear sweet football gods, the NYJ's are AWFUL. AWFUL I can't believe how bad their offense (and Sanchez) looks. If this season doesn't end in Ryan being fired, I don't know what it would take.

Yeah, the more I think about that the more annoyed I get with it. Getting the call on the field correct ought to be the highest priority. The NFL has responded that the intent of that rule is to stop a team from using challenge flags to manipulate the clock, presumably in the last two minutes of the game when challenges are supposed to come from the booth. Ignoring the fact that that rule is so broad that it also affects all scoring plays and turnovers, both of which stop the clock automatically anyhow, that's a very easy to solve problem. Have an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty (which is exactly what that is anyhow) and a 10 second run off (or it costs them a timeout) if the team is on offense, just like motion penalties.

Fortunately, the league has said that they'll take a look at that rule, but it should have never made it on the books in the first place.

Man... With losing an RB for the season, I'm now stuck in a pickle.

Do I follow the numbers and start Jamaal Charles and Ben Jarvus Green Ellis, or do I drop one of them and go with Vick Ballard, who could come up pretty big against a Buffalo Defense that is just ABYSMAL. If I did put him in, I'd probably bench Charles who is going up against a decent Broncos D, while BJGE is going up against the Raiders, who have... not been very good at stopping the run.

Let's have some fun. Pick the Sunday Games!

Steelers at Browns: Steelers 17-9
Broncos at Chiefs: Broncos 32-10
Vikings at Bears: If Cutler Plays: Bears 27-20 If Cutler doesn't play: Vikings 20-17
Raiders at Bengals: Bengals 34-30
Bills at Colts: Colts 31-18
Seahawks At Dolphins: Seahawks 17-14
Falcons at Bucs: Falcons: 38-35
Titans at Jags: Hmmmmmm Tough one. I'm going to say Ten 20-17 and probably a GREAT game.
Ravens at Chargers: Ravens. I'll just say Big. I don't think it's going to be much of a contest. 42-20 if I had to put a point total sounds close.
Niners at Saints: This is going to be fun to watch. I'm putting money on the niners pulling one through, but it's going to be ugly. 28-27, or some other nail biting score.
Rams atZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz I'm sorry I fell asleep. Arizona. We all lose. Cards, 20-10.
Packers At Giants. The G Men need it. 28-20
Panthers at Philly. THis game makes me cringe. This is going to be the game of the Brat versus the walrus. 17-10 Panthers, because nothing can save Philly now.

I agree with most of your picks except Packers at Giants. Then again, I'm a Patriots fan, so I'll hate them to my dying day. :)

That said, I truly do think that the Packers can get one over on the Giants, even if it's squeaking by 28-27.

Steelers deserved to lose that game by more than they did. What an absolute shit show.

Maybe they'll spend the next few years trying to put a team together that isn't made of glass and not keep a senior citizen as their third string QB.

Hell.. throw Ben's less than week old son in there and he probably would throw less interceptions.

Agreed, but the thing I don't understand about all of this is...

Don't the coaches watch the weekly highlight shows?? The EXACT SAME DAMN THING happened the week before in the Cardinals/Falcons game and it was pointed out on every highlight show in the country!

(The Falcons threw a challenge flag on a turnover, which is automatically reviewed - they got the 15-yard penalty and the play couldn't be reviewed any longer.)

Time to check in on my prognostications!

Steelers at Browns: Steelers 17-9

Ok... So. First. I just recovered ANOTHER Pittsburgh Fumble! Oh, and 5 minutes ago, I think the elderly woman in the front office recovered one too. Holy Hell... I don't know if you could try to lose and be worse than that. So....

0-1

Broncos at Chiefs: Broncos 32-10

YAY! 1-1, Though... WTF happened to the Offense? Was McGahee that important? Was Moreno and Hillman that "not good"? This game proves to me that I will never ever ever give my wife advice on a Fantasy advice.

Vikings at Bears: If Cutler Plays: Bears 27-20 If Cutler doesn't play: Vikings 20-17

2-1! So I guess I was giving the Vikings offense too much credit. I really didn't think that the Bears D (yes, they are really good) would keep Peterson in check and touchdownless

2-1

Raiders at Bengals: Bengals 34-30

So uh... What the heck happened to the Raiders O? Is the Bengal D that good? Or is the Ravens D really just that bad with all the injuries? I pegged Cincy's point total on the nose (awesome), but didn't think that the Raiders O would look so awful.

3-1

Bills at Colts: Colts 31-18

Yay! 4-1.

Again with the lack of offense though. Surprising really.

Seahawks At Dolphins: Seahawks 17-14

heh. I was wrong. 4-2. I really didn't think that the Fins O was capable of it against what has looked like a really good D from Seattle. I should have gone with the "Seattle sucks on the East Coast" feekubg,

Falcons at Bucs: Falcons: 38-35

Well... It was close, I thought it would be close, but again... not as much scoring as you would expect from these two teams. Impressive. 5-2.

Titans at Jags: Hmmmmmm Tough one. I'm going to say Ten 20-17 and probably a GREAT game.

Wow. Jags win at home? That... never happens. 5-3

Ravens at Chargers: Ravens. I'll just say Big. I don't think it's going to be much of a contest. 42-20 if I had to put a point total sounds close.

Thank you Norv Turner. Thank you for ruining your chance to beat the Ravens, and for giving me Win #6. 6-3

Niners at Saints: This is going to be fun to watch. I'm putting money on the niners pulling one through, but it's going to be ugly. 28-27, or some other nail biting score.

This was fun to watch. C.K. looks like he will be fun to watch develop, and had it not been for the pick sixes, (2!) it would have been a lot closer game. 7-3

Rams atZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz I'm sorry I fell asleep. Arizona. We all lose. Cards, 20-10.

Oi. Arizona is sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiding into getting their coach fired. What an awful, terrible, no good, performance by a team that has just walked off the cliff. 7-4.

Packers At Giants. The G Men need it. 28-20

Giants needed it. They wanted it. And the Rodgers Porn Stache kept the Packers down. 8-4.

Panthers at Philly. THis game makes me cringe. This is going to be the game of the Brat versus the walrus. 17-10 Panthers, because nothing can save Philly now.

This game is just... blech. I'm not even going to try and tune in to the end of it after my wife watches The Voice. Go ahead Honey, I'll catch the score in the morning.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, this part is for the few Fantasy Players we have here. I've won my game this week. 103-97. It's over. He has no more to play. I had picked up the Panthers D for the week, because I figured Either Vick will be fumbling, or Foles with be throwing to the wrong jersey. Even without the D, I've won. Does anyone see it as bad form to just bench my D, walk away with the win?

Mind you, this game was against the team I'm chasing in my Division for Home Field Advantage. I'm 8-3 pending the win, He is 10-1 pending the loss. I leave it as is, with D on the bench, I go to 9-3, he goes to 10-2, with one week to go. If he loses next week, and I win, we'll be tied on records, and it will go down to Div Record. Which will be a win for me, since my win next week would put me at 6-2 in the div, and he would be 5-3.

So... poor form? or smart decision?

The Broncos looked like they were still suffering of tryptophan overdose.

I gotta say it felt like they walked backwards into a victory -- slightly disappointed, but isnt there always a game where Peyton loses against really bad teams? Of course, being the chiefs, they actually won.

Man, the Ravens can't play well on the road until the playoffs start.

This is the type of QB that will succeed in the league. The days of Manning/BRady/Wheelchair type QB's who are limited in their mobility is coming to an end in the league. (That last sentence is just personal opinion).

He's on pace to have the best rookie QB year ever. He's always stated that he's a passing QB first and runner second. With his athletic freakness and ability to run combined with the amazing rookie year Alfred Morris is having they can freeze linebackers and safeties like no other team in the league on the play action.

I'm indifferent towards the Redskins being a Ravens fan. I like it when they lose because DC radio is better, but I don't mind RG3 being an amazing player and making the team better. If they could somehow fix that defense they could be a force for a decade.
We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.
