Agent waives the waiting period so Dumervil doesn't tell everyone how bady he screwed up, and avoids a lawsuit, lol

Goodbye Phil. You will be missed.
At this point, the upgrades to the Browns Defense better produce the greatest Defense ever to play the game, because we just lost our Points Scored Leader..... Of all time.

At least you can argue that being one of the nice guys, he deserves to have a better shot at a ring.

On other news
Carpenter confirms he's pretty much done =/

Kazmir might actually make it though

And if they go to court, it would be funny if the Marlins argue that the reason the fans dont want to renew is because the team had a fire sale. I don't think that would go very well with a jury, seeing how Loria pretty much conned Miami into building him a stadium for a subpar team.

Oh, I agree.
Right now, the ire is directed at the new front office who has stayed mum about the whole thing. If Phil wanted a chance at a ring, no rational Browns fan would have given him grief about it, and we would have understood. Sure, you have the crazies, but we aren't all terrible.
At this point, the silence feels wrong. Not saying anything feels like they are trying to hide that they didn't want him back. Which is just bat shit crazy. I understand that football is a business, but the man missed 1 kick from 50+ yards over the past two seasons, and 3 from 40+. He's a great kicker, and a great guy, one that I feel should have been allowed to retire as a "one team player" if that was his choice. The silence feels like it wasn't his choice.
Maybe I'm just weird. But there are times, I just feel like people have earned the right to finish their career (in any field) in a way that suits them. Ray should have (and did) retire as a Raven. Brady should retire as a Pat, I wish Manning would have had the chance to retire as a Colt, Mariano has the chance to retire a Yankee, To me Phil is the same for Browns fans. He's been the one constant through the constant upheaval in Cleveland, and he has always been a humble, well spoken man in public.

And it just begs the same question.
HOW IN THE HOLY EFFING HELL is Loria still an MLB owner.
Did the WBC Games give him enough cash flow to keep this thing afloat for the season? Because I just don't see that many people showing up to games.

Damn, what am I doing at work instead of being in Vegas?
Vegas for Super Bowl weekend: Good times!
Vegas for first two rounds of March Madness is probably even more insane. One of these years... *sigh*

Browns sign a TE with Pass Catching problems, and a CB that I've never heard of.... This is more the way that we expected free agency to roll

The Orioles/Ravens scheduling snafu is amusing in how the NFL is playing the victim card and painting the Orioles and MLB as bad guys instead of doing the sane thing and moving the home opener to Wednesday night. They played on Rosh Hashanah last year so no one should buy that excuse.
We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.
