because someone was bitching to get going.....
if i had inspected him like i normally do with pugs, there is no way in hell he would have come close to FL with us

Brekkie:Tanks are like shitty DPS. And healers are like REALLY distracted DPS
Amirya:Why yes, your penis is longer than his because you hit 30k dps in the first 10 seconds. But guess what? That raid boss has a dick bigger than your ego.
Flex:I don't make mistakes. I execute carefully planned strategic group wipes.
Levie:(in /g) It's weird, I have a collar and I dont know where I got it from, Worgen are kinky!
Levie:Drunk Lev goes and does what he pleases just to annoy sober Lev.

I had my monitor die halfway through tanking him one time, I just kept up the standard 969 rotation as best I could based on the sounds I heard until my boss mod played the victory tune, then typed a quick apology in raid chat that I was going to be offline for a bit so I could replace my monitor. Until I'd typed that no one had even noticed I was playing blind.Jeremoot wrote:I had to do that on a number of occasions, the reward is that Loatheb is next and you can afk for the whole fight.Skye1013 wrote:On the other hand... having people wipe on it isn't necessarily a big deal... you can still kill Heigan with just a tank/healer alive... even though it does take half an hour.
You didn't even have to do that. Loatheb was really simple: You would hit the boss for 10 seconds, then walk out of the room and mix yourself another drink. I'd just pop my head in the room every couple minutes to see if he was dead yet.

I always played the "can I reduce my damage intake to 0" game. There were a couple kills where I managed to take only one or two hits totaling less than a thousand damage, but don't think I ever managed to get to 0.

Patchwork 10 was also hilariously fun in a block set; 0 damage taken ftw.

Naxx 10 was incredibly fun as a pally tank, since you could easily end up in the top 3 in the dps chart.

o.O I didn't know a single person that thought the opening trash to ICC was actually FUN.

It was fun, cuz you would easily top the charts at the start, of course, once the actual fights would begin, you would fall to where you should be.

Fun the first few times you do it. Fun the first few times someone ninja pulls the next group.
Despair when have a saberlash add, face it away from the raid, a melee wonders into the wrong spot dies and thinks you lost aggro.

DPS getting killed by their own stupidity is not my fault, and my group of raiders were fully aware of that =D
But seriously, the other pally tank (who retired with cata) and me would compete on who would have the highest DPS in the first 2 rooms of ICC, which is how we decided who would be doing the jumping on lootship.

Re: Massive Firelands Nerfs Starting Next Week
I've re-learned the joyful game of "kill the dps" in Firelands recently - which was massively fun in boring ICC runs.
I always wondered how the dogs chose their bite target, only to realize the obvious - it's RSTS in melee range.
Soooooo, I've been sloooooooowly working on getting the dog packs closer to casters. I'm avoiding the huge dog, as the fire breath is too obvious, but I'm hoping there'll be some nice moves to snatch a few careless players in the next raid!

Oh right. Geeked out: Random Secondary Targeting System. And in fact, I'm wrong saying it's RSTS, it's pure Random Targeting System as the tank can be nommed.

It might be RSTS with the closest target untargetable.

Maybe, but as far as I can see, the doggy just noms something in range. I haven't seen some kind of rule or logic behind who gets the bite.
Anyways, just drag it through the casters and enjoy the headless chicken show. Oh, and try to corall them just so the other tank can get a nice AoE cone in their face. But do warn the healers - they're your friends. Also, they're vindictive like that.
