It's been quite some times since I've been to a ren faire. I'd have to dig up my garb. Alas, it's Ranger wear, not Paladin. I don't want to wear plate. ><

Sounds better than what I have available at the moment... mine could best be described as "NPC wear." After all, I was a vendor .

At ren faires at least, they tend to frown upon you if you kill the NPCs to loot their armor.

Hence the "peace" tying of weapons (usually just a string to keep non-actors from drawing their weapons, not that it's a catch all solution, but it "keeps honest people honest.")
