Maintankadin for WAR?
I'm searching and so far haven't had much luck. Anyone know of a
tanking site for Warhammer Online? I'm playing around with, unsurprisingly,
a Knight of the Blazing Sun.

My conclusion - no, there kinda isn't.
whalliance.com has a passable forum where you can ask
tank questions. Their theoretical knowledge isn't at
the level we have here (it'd be shocking if it was, given
their itty bitty player base) but they're trying.

Yeah, I have a Black Orc and a few other toons in WAR and was never able to find a really solid site even for the basic theorycrafting, let alone anything similar to the resources we're blessed with here.

Just guides but it had some nice stuff when I was playing my Chosen, not sure if they have too much for other classes. One big thing I got from them that i'd never considered before was 'Reverse Hold the Line', since Hold The Line protects everyone behind you, if you're say attacking a castle gate standing under the oil would be dumb, go to the back of your group, turn away from the castle then pop Hold The Line... voila, everyone attacking the gate gets protected by it. Useful in many situations

Re: Maintankadin for WAR?
Yep, didn't take me long to put Twister in.
I actually haven't touched it in about a week, though, because (inc bitching)
1. Seriously - does this game have PvE instances? I haven't found any,
AFAIK I haven't heard people talking about any, and in all the guides I've
read I've seen zero paragraphs about threat, bosses, the stuff that you
normally associate with PvE. I realize that as a PvE fan I'm in the wrong
game, but I was hoping to get some experience that way because
2. As a tank at rank 14, about all I can do is spam Hold the Line.
Wait, that's not completely true, I can also hamstring someone every five
seconds and keep Guard up. The healers are healing, the bright wizards
are throwing fireballs, the witch elves are slicing and dicing...but it looks
like I'd be about rank 33 before I had the tools to actively protect somebody.
Right now, I am a self-propelled stoneskin totem.
And finally,
3. While TOR is supposed to credit tanks for Damage Prevented, WAR
doesn't - so even if you do a wonderful job as a tank, the end-of-scenario
scorecard summarizes your performance as "no healing, crap damage, 78 renown"
while everybody else is getting hundreds.
Yes, I'll have some cheese with my whine.

Re: Maintankadin for WAR?
There are PvE instances but they did an amazing job of hiding them, there's one near the end of the first section, its simply a green glowing tear, nothing to say it's an instance. There are more in the capital cities (lvls 15-40 I think) and also the land of the dead (levels 35+), but all of these are ridiculously well hidden, some to the point of being impossible to find even if you know they're there, they hugely dropped the ball on them.
Yes, tanking mostly sucks in the BGs, it's somewhat better in instances and open world, whilst I commend them for giving tanks the skills to actually be useful in PvP (though mostly castle raids) they utterly failed to put in any method to recognise their contribution in BGs. I ended up dropping my tank and rolling a dps/healer and coming top 3 in every BG for reknown every time.

Interesting. Do you by any chance remember what it's called? I'm tempted to log in and go see it, just to see if it was something I ran past several dozen times.

I was doing really well on renown at first, using a two-hander at rank 6-9...at that level just going after casters instead of beating on the big orc with the shield makes you a badass.

Hunters Vale, Rank 8+. Its at the edge of the RvR zone in Blighted Isles I believe.

And a list of the other instances except the Land of the Dead, couldn't find a list of them (they're 35+ I believe).
