This is my thoughts everytime someone pops a Game of Thrones topic.

Just finished season 1.

I may or may not have a crush on Lord Baelish. His conniving ways just encourage it. Anything that does or doesn't happen to him beyond season 1 is not a factor in my current crushing.

I don't remember if it was noticeable in s1, but his accent in the latest season has been annoying me, not sure what it is...

He (Aidan Gillen) is Irish by birth... and s1 sounds like he's going for British... maybe that's the issue? I'll have to see if it changes as I keep watching.

This link seems to agree. [Possible spoilers in the video]

I have a friend who somehow saved himself from spoilers for eleven weeks and is now watching all the eps in a week. Tonight is Episode 8, I'm having trouble containing my excitement for his reaction.

I am a bad friend.

Film was off the table, I was afraid of alerting him and I couldn't think of a way to do it secretly. He did straight up say "it must be a dream sequence, right? Surely." Then later once it had sunk in I asked him to use red weddings as a standard unit "10 Red Weddings, maybe more. How can they do that?! How can you kill such a great character, and like that, for fucks sake!"

As happy as he was for the Purple Wedding he was sad/angry for this. It was great, I was laughing, then feeling bad and trying not to laugh, then just laughing again.

After a while I linked him the denial version of the scene and that seemed to help, he laughed the bitterest of laughs and said there would be no more GoT that day.

Or rather, no Michelle Fairley Lady Stoneheart. They could have Robb's wife be it instead.

Rumor is that August 19 will be the day that they will announce when Winds of Winter will be released.

Although others are saying it will be announced as early as this weekend at SDCC

Friend of mine and I are having a discussion, which leads down random paths... it led to this little ditty... (to the tune of White Christmas)

Skye's Friend wrote:I'm dreaming of a Red Wedding
And all the horrors it contains
There are people crying
The Starks are dying
Bleeding out, leaving crimson stains

We found it amusing and I figured I'd share it with you all :D

So I never got around to watching any of the seasons of the show after the first, but I just heard that season 5 is coming out soon.

The fifth book has been out for quite some time, what happens when season six comes out next year and book six hasn't been released yet?

Have they slowed down the pace of the show so that they're not quite up to the point of books 4 and 5 chronologically, yet?

They've gone at different paces with the plot so far; they've covered most but not all of book 3, parts of book 4, and one character has already reached the end of book 5. The creators have said they'll have no problem going on ahead with the story if they catch up with and overtake the books (which is likely, and is already happening with Bran Stark).
