Almost dont with the 4th book now (Can you tell why my personality goes with with WoW and its hardcore raider life? THoguh I no longer do that...I READ GAME OF THRONES! haha BAM!) and I have to say..book 3 is my fave so far. Book 4 is okay in that I has some long saut answers for me, but so slow compared to book 3. hehe I have the 1st season on DvD as well and have one more disk and that is done as well.

Please Ser, may I have sa'more...

If you thought 4th is slow, wait until you get to 5th... Then even the BMAH will look a bee hive on steroids...

P.S. In fact i must confess 5th is in fact "faster" that 4th... but after the 4th i think it was harder to read....

Eh, I think Dance (5) is a big improvement over 4, but none of them are quite as good as 1-3.

Yeah...4th was PAINFULL!!!!!! Thus far...most of Dance is a bit dry (compared to 1-3) and WAY faster than book 4. haha FUK A DUCK on that book man!

The DVD 1st season is DA SHIT! Love it. I wont get HBO to watch the next season so I will have to wait to buy that season as well. Meh...how it goes right?

Also, The Wall is the best part of the books for me. Kinda like where I live. Legends and magics of old and all that shiat! Lore. ancient stories and the like...hehe BAM!

I'm rewatching the first season now, hoping to stretch out rewatching the second season until season three is out.

IMDB has had a photo for game of thrones at 31/03/13 for a while so I'm taking that as launch night for the third season.

So far I haven't read the books and I'm very tempted to start over chirstmas, although a bit worried about the slow slog people have said the books are.

It's only the most recent two books that I found a slow slog. The others were quite pacy and surprisingly close to watching the TV series. You are at a tricky point because if you start reading now, you will spoil the TV series when there are some twists ahead that exceed Sean Bean's exit from Season 1 in shock value. If you've already been spoiled, then just read the books. I read ahead and don't regret the books spoiling me, as they were terrific reads. And the TV series is of sufficient quality, that you can enjoy it enormously even if you know the story.

I'd say the opposite, read the books to avoid any spoilers from the TV series! The shocking reveals in the books work better due the POV shifting from character to character for me.

At least read the three first... They are very, very good.

Yeah. But dude is a heart-attack in waiting... it took about 5 years between Swords and Crows, and 6 between Crows and Dragons. And even if he finishes Winter before dying, he still needs to finish Spring...

Heck, in the board where I first saw the news posted... about 75% of the comments are basically "Finish ASOIAF first, you asshole" over, and over again.

If he doesn't finish it, too bad, but he owes us nothing and it's no call for insults.
