Leveling 80-85 Spec and Gear

This is to start off.

For my gear I am wearing DPS trinkets and my enchant is berserking. Only because I can't think of a better leveling 1h weapon enchant.

I'm definitely sticking with Eternal Glory rather than SotP, because the chance of using a WoG to top myself off while running to the next mob and still having some HoP remaining for the next SotR is too good to pass up. And since I'm going to be levelling on a very high population server, 30 yard Judgement range >>>>>>>>>> 6% melee haste; tagging mobs from that distance is far, far too good to pass up.

I'll be questing as Ret, if only because Long Arm of the Law (and PoJ until 82) is way too good to pass up.

The only reason I didn't go ret was because I want to be able to pull more than 2-3 mobs. I remember doing this as ret in starter zone in Hyjal and it was pretty difficult.

Was also thinking of putting a Titanium Shield Spike on my shield...thoughts?

Shield spike certainly won't hurt, it's a good call tbh, think I'll go pick one up.

I've decided to quest as prot, for at least the begining. However I'm doing it my ret set (4pc bonus and everything) with my shield and a slow weap from lk25 and I've reforged all the haste to hit and expertise (sitting at roughly 10% hit and 53 expertise (and 30% crit) hoping that should save me from too many misses until I start replacing gear - though I have a hit and an expertise trinket on standby). However I do have a ret spec ready just incase PoJ and Long Arm of the Law prove better than aoe farming the kill X blue people.

Well maybe you can pull 4-5 mobs at once in Vashj/Hyjal, but you won't be killing them faster because of it. Up to your style I suppose, but LAotL nails the coffin in my book.

At 84-85, I definitely recommend going Prot because it gets downright dangerous to fight 2 mobs at once with the threat of any adds meaning instant death.

I spent a little while when cleaning out the bank this weekend to pick out the highest damage gear I had from my PvP and Ret sets (my PvP set was much better than my Ret, but neither were great) and put together a set with about 5k attack power and 25% crit to start levelling in. I'm going to get Tuskarr's on my boots until I can hit level 82 and have full PoJ. Most of it will of course be replaced quickly, but I want a good start.

I'm just staying with my normal Prot spec, there's very little difference I can make. I already have Eternal Glory and Imp. Judgement.
