Just a word of advice for those still using AVG as their antivirus.
I actually switched a while back when AVG actually declared my WoW was a virus.

I dropped AVG in favor of Avast when I noticed that one of their updates automatically installed a Yahoo toolbar into my browsers without my consent.
It's a shame, I really used to like AVG.

Microsoft Security Essentials is actually a really solid anti-virus program, believe it or not, so I've been using that lately because it's completely free.

And I thought it was just me. I only just started using AVG and it's been hell.

I actually like Panda Cloud Antivirus. My previous experiences with Avast were crap but I hear now that Avast has vastly improved.

I can't second this enough.
Better to be known in a small guild, rather than unknown in a large guild.

Wow... wow. I've been staring at the reboot prompt for 2 days, and I don't usually wander into General very often. Thanks so much.
I just chucked it and got MSE. That would've been painful... sigh @ bad QC.

not very happy w/the upgrade, so I guess I'll try something else that was suggested here.

AVG hasn't been good in a while, but it was still popular on reputation alone.
Avast and MSE are really good free options, and what's more -- you can actually run both together in the background and not conflict with each other.

Yeah, I used to love AVG.
But now its too complex to install a free version, to many update popups and now the "yay avg has boned win7 64bit" issue has made me install MS security.
Pretty good thus far.

Ellifain @ Khaz'Goroth does not approve of torture, save where there's experience/rep/loot involved.

Tried using AVG a few years ago on my old laptop, I had to reinstall windows to get the computer to work again. Went right back to avast afterwards.
