Loremaster, completed quests

Postby degre » Mon Nov 15, 2010 3:59 am

I'm after Loremaster (Horde) and, while I have happily achieved the Eastern Kingdoms part with 3 zones still to complete (missing some stuff in Silverpine, all of Strangle and Thorium Point), I'm 11 to cap in Kalimdor and I currently have in my log only retarded stuff that requires idiotic grind and will bring me to -5.

Now, I'll be completing all the Eastern Kingdoms quests as it's possible that some of those might need delivery in Kalimdor and will count as such, but I was wondering if there's any add-on or script that will give me a full print-out of the quest I have completed, so that I can do a full print out of the quests from wowhead/thott/allakhazam and compare?

It would be useful also as I'm missing one of the chicken escorts for the mechanichal chicken, knowing which area to farm would be useful.

EveryQuest addon should do the trick.

EveryQuest will show all the quests in the area, and you can set it to only show horde and non-factional quests. Theres also an addon to everyquest that will show the location of all the quest givers on your map.

Loremaster will show you which quests in there count toward Loremaster

I did it on allaince but i was down to about the last 10 and discovered those cloth turn in quests in the major cities by the tailoring trainers count ^.^

I see. So that's why it did ring a bell this name, I was going through addons on Curse the past week and I've tried EveryQuestGiver, but I couldnt filter results and I ended up having to uninstall as it was just filling my map with icons and could locate the actuall available quests, I'll see to reinstall it with the main component and see how it work.

Too bad I've done the cloth quests already or I'll be fine :(

For the record, out of the 11 missing, these are the one that I have available:
x2 in Tanaris: The final Mosharu tablets, need a trip in LBRS and gives 2 follows up, 1 of which counts as well for Kalimdor.
x1 in Un-goro: Raptor mount, 17 days to go.
x5 in Silithus: 1 only needs to be returned within AQ40. 1 requires some killing in AQ40, 1 is the 200 shells grindfest for Cenarion rep and the remaining two are more grindfest as I have to make two scepters using the twilight robes. Dont remember if I ever returned the eye of cthun, that could count for one more.

So I'm short of 3 and I could do with 1 extra, as I'm almost done with 1 scepter, but before farming another one I'd rather close my account forever and forget about the game.

PS. while I was writing, it came to mind that I havent done some stuff in DM, I'll need to double check later, as there's a bunch of quests in DM north that should count and might sort me out.

Another sneaky questline is from the dead horde champion in blasted lands. Eventually you'll end up in azshara with 5+ quests there.

I feel like you're missing a large chunk of quests somewhere. I managed to finish Loremaster while hated by the goblins, though I had done most of Tanaris quests while leveling. That left me with 30ish (or maybe more) quests that I simply couldn't get.

There are a lot of quests that send you back and forth, and they vary on which side they count for. Thousand Needles, specifically the salt flats, sends you all over Eastern Kingdoms, but they come back and count for Kalimdor. Someone mentioned the Fallen Hero questline, which has a few in Azshara that count for Kalimdor.

As suggested, I would get the EveryQuest and Loremaster addons, have EveryQuest scan your completed quests, then hide the Alliance-only and completed quests and flip through the remaining ones. There's a lot that don't count for Loremaster, but the ones with the [L] next to their name count. I bet you'll be surprised how many you missed.

Carbonite will give you a list of incomplete quests for the zone your character is in at the moment. Many of them are class- or holiday-specific but you can look them up. If you are that close to complete then you should only have 5-10 unfinished quests per zone, which are must easier to sort through than the long list of completed quests. Carbonite isn't very easy to use on a temporary basis as it tries to take over your UI. Just tell it NO and suffer through its effects until you've finished Loremaster.

QuestHelper could do the same in a better format for any zone (not just the one you occupy) while showing you the location of the quest giver as well, but it's been dead since 4.0.1 as far as I know. If it's working again I'd recommend trying it first.

I highly recommend the wowhead client. It took me about two weeks to complete Loremaster, starting from 1/2 completed Kalimdor/EK.

Uploading your profile makes it easy to see what zones you are missing quests in:
http://www.wowhead.com/profile=us.malga ... wyn#quests

On that page click on Kalimdor or EK to see a breakdown of zones and quests completed in each zone; you can then further filter for incomplete quests.

I used a combination of the wowhead client and Carbonite addon.

I discovered all these quest addons after I got loremaster. I did it the old fashioned way of looking up each zone on wowhead, looking at the quests and then remembering what quests I did 3+ years ago.

Fuzzygeek has it right. I didn't use the carbonite addon because I have 2 monitors so I could set up quests in different tabs as I travelled.
Too much talking here and not enough tanking. Stop the bitching and get tanking.

Thanks to all!

At first I've found a couple of breadcrumbs left around thanks to the addon, which then led me to another couple of quests in Ashenvale, by then I had nothing left starting in Kalimdor and the dead horde champion did the trick.

Now I only need the last zone left in Northrend and in a few days I'll be a happy Loremaster ^_^
