Does it bother you that maces & hammers are the same type of weapon?

GTFO, noob! It's just a stat stick. I'd swing a fish if it gave me +500 stamina!

This should have totally been a Goblin class ability. Or an anti-Goblin spell.

Anti-Goblin spell. Goblins won't throw gold away.
On the other hand... if you throw gold they will assume you have plenty of it and go for you even harder.

I've always been very unsatisfied with the complete lack of "fist" weapons available in WoW...

Pfft. Who remembers playing the original red and blue box sets of D&D?

Pretty sure I still have waxy misshapen yellow and baby blue dice kicking around.

virus on a stick woo.

Maces are decent enough for flailing around, if you're into that kind of thing. Hammers for precision work.

That being said, I'm still partial to swords.

It annoyed me that in wow most of the top tanking weapons wernt swords.
Last laugh was an axe
You got 2 swords in ulduar, but the top tank weapons from hardmodes were maces, ditto with the LK weapon drops.

What's wrong with that? I mean, I recognize that the 'symbolic weapon' of a knight is his sword. But beyond that, what's wrong with a good hammer?

Caveat: I'm a dwarf paladin, as have been most of my paladins in DnD. 8)

human pally, but i played dwarfs in D&D almost exclusively (half-orc ranger... .fun times RPing having to report to an elfish king)

the symbol of a knight maybe his sword, but the symbol of a Paladin is his hammer
i present Hammer of the Naaru and Light's Vengeance

Brekkie:Tanks are like shitty DPS. And healers are like REALLY distracted DPS
Amirya:Why yes, your penis is longer than his because you hit 30k dps in the first 10 seconds. But guess what? That raid boss has a dick bigger than your ego.
Flex:I don't make mistakes. I execute carefully planned strategic group wipes.
Levie:(in /g) It's weird, I have a collar and I dont know where I got it from, Worgen are kinky!
Levie:Drunk Lev goes and does what he pleases just to annoy sober Lev.
Sagara:You see, you need to *spread* the bun before you insert the hot dog.

Both of those are ugly and more like maces than hammers in my opinion. (They are too thick).
Might be due to translation issues. There seem to be more words to distinguish between those kinds of weapons in my language than (I know / I'm able to find) in English.
I don't think they look like anything a paladin would use.

You know, with all the jackassery in this forum, I would have expected more number 1 votes. Thank you for your candid responses, though.

Anyone want to start on how many different classifications are lumped into "guns"?

Although maces are my third choice below swords and axes... swords ftw

Personally, getting thwacked with the side of the hammer instead of the face is no walk in the park. Especially if the person hammering you is really strong.

Its basically like your ex girlfriend trying to kick you in the fun bag, but you move slightly and she ends up hitting you square in the dickerdoodle. Not. Fun. Times.

...so...

Boss tanking is like fighting with your ex-GF?

Interesting.
