On my server, the other herbs have all gone very low supply and high price since patch, but blackfallow turned out to be pretty cheap and abundant, hehe.

So dropped engineering on my mage for enchanting (keeping in on my hunter), and started that spriest that will be scribe/tailor, so currently that will give me:

engineer/miner (will be leveled to 90)
scribe/ench (likely will be leveled to 90)
tailor/scribe (likely will be leveled to 90)
JC/alch x2 (will not be leveled to 90)
herb/alch (may be leveled to 90)
skinner/alch (will not be leveled to 90)

If it turns out I need another scribe or two for making DMCs, I can convert either the skinner or one of the JCs to a scribe (or both).

I'm not touching BS or LW, due to the leveling pains, and the fact that I don't think I'll have a toon with the rep or leveled enough to get SoH to make it worthwhile.

Other than finishing leveling the spriest, I'm ready...

Noticed a stealth change yesterday. With the patch Tuesday, they upped the requirements for each new level of professions. Which means that say for the Frostweave tier on Tailoring, your alt now needs to be 65 instead of 60, and the Embersilk requires 75 instead of 70. I assume the Panda levels will require 85, but I didn't check that.

I think this was done across all the professions. Yet another nerf to crafting alt-slave-workshops in the trade districts of SW and Org.

Your lvl 80 crafters will need to be leveled to 85.

I thought it was already 55/65/75/80? I know I've always had to be 65 to get WotLK professions.

Edit: I say "always". I mean since they changed professions around sometime in WotLK.

I know there were things on the spriest (tailor and scribe) that were requiring 40, 50, 60, so perhaps some other professions were already at the "5s". Been a while since I did professions other than gathering while leveling.

I had to get to 65 to learn Grand Master Inscription on my Rogue a month or so back (pre-5.0), with Cataclysm Inscription being 75 (I got lazy and stayed at 65). I remember the same being true for my Shaman's enchanting while levelling a year back. Gathering profs were lower level, though, IIRC (way back in WotLK, I don't bother with gathering any more)?

I can also vouch for BS/LW being that way. I think the secondary professions might be lower, but the primary ones I've leveled recently (i.e. since Cata was released) were 55/65/75/80.

Price of Hypnotic dust has shot up in the last two weeks. Gone from <50s to 3g+...

Had one player who kept trying to reset the price a few weeks back, up into the 2g50 range, but it never seemed to catch on and I hadn't noticed that seller doing it again, but then suddenly it was up and kept rising.

Now that one seller has reset all the Maelstrom Crystals from 35-40g to 115g...

Kysen...same on my server. I sold 20 stacks at 3g each dust. haha WOOHOO! Well, that is to say, in stacks of 5 for 15g. Ive sold alot of enchants too for some reason, but have not made alot profit on some of them. Talking bout 50-100% margins now :'(

Also...I have made a MINT from PvP gears! haha LOVE IT!

Fix't for ya.

I'm not 100% confortable in selling them for that price... i think i'm saving my dust for after the MoP.

I have awoken from my slumber and I feel refreshed. Hello good friend Auctioneer Hesse, nice to see you again.

The nice thing about being away from the AH for so long is that the markets you worked hard at creating a stable and efficient price have fallen apart with enormous amounts of potential due to trading inefficiencies.

I'm wonder what's gonna happen to Cata mats. Early this past week, I bought a bunch of volatiles at 1-2G each as I needed some for leveling tailoring, and I bought way more than what I needed, esp the V Life, as it was cheap. This weekend, I've been selling a good amount of the extra at 6-7G for the V Life, and 11ish for V Air. I'm wondering if it will dip down again, or if it will go even higher as people won't be farming, or if it was just a spike from people leveling crafting professions this weekend.

I'll certainly take the 300-400% returns, and I'll also buy up more if it drops again. Having 4 alchemists to park in Uldum to make V Air can be helpful.

Since 5.0.4 the price of older Greater essences has gone through the floor.

Vanilla essences 25g down to 10g.
BC essences down below 2g regularly.
LK essences 3g now.

Wondering if I should stockpile or not?

Look at the leveling guides and see what's listed, and use that as a guide on what to stock up on.

Found another nice little profit margin.
With the plunge in prices of enchanting matts, I'm able to make a tidy profit on certain enchants like
(Vanilla) Enchant weapon: Crusader or (BC) Mongoose.
Those scrolls still sell for 400-500g each.

It's a long term play. You'll see some short term downward pressure from all the monks/re-rolls plowing through the same content and providing more materials but I fully expect them to recover at previous prices plus some appreciation due to gold inflation from MoP questing.

I'm stocking up on Vanilla and LK stuff. BC, not so much as it has never been a big money maker for me. The sheer amount of materials you need for LK enchanting leveling up is pretty stiff and there are never enough high level Vanilla materials since people hop to BC the moment they hit 58.

Over the next couple of days, everyone is going to be making gobs of money. I'm going to go ahead and give everyone a high five, a gold star, and cookie now and wish everyone a hearty congratulations.

My request is for people to give informative and insightful plays on what you are doing to reap the benefit. Nice mining loop? Upside down market? Market resets? Plans? Something of that nature.

Holyblaze is grandfathered in with "BAM!" "WOOHOO!" "Get dat shiat" and other like kind responses.

Go forth and reap the bounties laid out in front of us as the mists have descended upon man and goblin alike.

Incoming obvious tip: Check the AH for people dumping Leatherworking and Blacksmithing leveling items. Enchanting seems to be short stocked on dust/essence at the moment or just post them much higher for people looking for quick gear upgrades.

Along with that, I'm going to offer a cautionary tale. I wanted to move some goodsngold over to ally side. The best choice appeared to be mounts and pets. Well, the mounts went ok, but the pets.. sellers have come out of the woodwork, and I've spent the last month trying to sell them at a good markup. Not going well sofar. Seems that bored folks were doing dailies, and/or moving them from other servers and/or duping them.

Be very careful with pets.

On a side note, for the last month I've been farming the tiny shale spider that Jadefang drops. Tonight I get to find out how it sells as a caged pet, and if it's worth trying to sell it on a different server, and then buy account-bound stuff there. I have 33 of them. :-)

Well, missed the early high prices, but those never sell a lot anyway... so got the hunter to 86, a third of that by mining, and farmed up 50ish stacks of ore. Used 2/3 to get Eng to 580, the rest was posted for 450G/stack, we'll see if it sells, I suspect I'll be undercut overnight.

Funny thing was somewhere I picked up 22 kyparite, not sure where I got it, I think it must have been from a rare I killed. I posted that for 300G/ore, so will be interested to see if that sells as well.

Given the ghost ore spawn rates, I suspect the ore prices are gonna come down fast. But my two areas that I scouted on beta still don't have a lot of traffic yet, so I might be able to get some good farming in tomorrow night.

If my ore is stocked up and I don't have the SoH yet, and the ore's still dropping, I'll feed it all to the JCers, and get that started.

Yeah, I got two stacks Ghost Iron and 21 Kyparite (not sure how high it stacks, because it ws all in one) from rares dropping bags. Only the blues seems to be a guaranteed drop, though, so farming them isn't going to be so lucrative (wish the gear was BoE).

Spirits of Harmony are gonna be a bitch. Soulbound, and I only have 8.5 from levelling 85-90.

My personal feeling is that Spirits of Harmony will become un-soulbound later in the expansion. You can either harvest them now by buying raw materials at inflated prices and hope that you scrounge up some more prior to them being un-soulbound or sit on them and wait to divy them up.
