The Race to 80 by tommorrow morning...

Postby Risar » Fri Dec 05, 2008 11:11 am

Can I do it?

Logging in around 5:30 pm this afternoon as a Lv77 that is 3/4 of the way to 78. I have cartographer and Questhelper to speed up the process. Went through a good bit of the basin already and starting to do the Frenzyheart quests.

So is it possible to Ding 80 before tomm morning if I quest grind till about 3-4 am or am I destined to be grinding till Sunday morning? lol

easily. lvls 78 and 79 will be fast going as soon as you get to storm peaks. Do about 75% of the stormpeaks quests then go to Icecrown. I'd say do all the quests for the acheivement, but once you get to like 80% of quests done they start to get a little more time consuming.

each level should take you between 5 and 7 hours to complete if you are not wasting time gathering or idling in a city w/ no purpose.

Never drop below 275k xp/hr and you'll be 80 before you know it.

This sounds like one of the things that would ruin my desire to play for a month or so if I did them.

lol I know, its just that I never really got to enjoy level 70 for long then the release came out, so I just want to knock it out. Plus I work as a Linux tech during the day so when i get home from work I honestly dont want to spend more than 4 hours online. With the solid questing Ive been doing ive been staying up much longer and the womanz gettin impatient lol

I don't blame Risar for asking; my wife and I got started on Wrath a week and a half late and I feel waaaaay behind...I'll ding 76 tonight, and at our rate of play 77 is probably sometime Sunday. At least after that we'll have epic fliers and just be zipping from place to place. Looks good for hitting 80 before the next Arena season starts...I guess I'm targeting the weekend of the 13th. Hoping to do some PUG raiding (or whatever kind I can find) that weekend.

There's nothin wrong with wanting to burn through levels by spending copious amounts of time just speeding through quests etc.

It took me about 5 days to hit 80 and i was playing A LOT. I wouldnt go back and do it slower if i had the chance just to "smell the flowers" so to speak.

People play the game differently and there is no "right way" to go about it. For many of us getting a little closer to 80 >>>> a few hours of sleep.

I function fine on 6, other's on 8, others are sloths and need 10+ so that will determine one's priorities as well.

Lol, I feel the behindest.

My quick story...if anyone cares, I played from release, got my hunter to 70 after BC, then rerolled and levelled SLOW with my Pally. (the wife doesn't like questing.)

I'm still 70. I want to get my DK up so I can mine for my Pally to craft his own gear.

I think we'll take the pally/mage combo to Northrend starting tomorrow though!

just hit 75 last night and i'll be racing to 80 by sunday. now that i have shield to the face byahh! itll be a lot easier to deal with. towards the end of dragon's blight it was realllly boring. so far in zul drak the quests are also annoyingly thin. but riding the massive storm giant was pretty damned bitchin tbh.

but if youre near 78 now, ya a full day of questing will def get you there.
