WOTLK Progress Thus Far

Well I am 78 now. I am able to tank ALL level 80 instances in my protection gear without any problems. Malganis in Strat gave me some issues but I took care of it.

How is everyone else doing? Any new items?

I am farming Strat for Shield its so OP for defense.

I am able to get myself to 503 Defense from 473 a couple regemmings like double +12 def on my T6 shoulders etc..

Slowly plugging along at 72 1/2 and questing / instancing... Guess im just not a super fast quester.. :p

I'm taking my time. I'm really into the new areas and quests. Currently level 72! Can't wait for 75

I am dungeonmaster at level 77 now. Het defense cap is a real pita atm as I have hardly replaced any gear so far. Think I'm replacing some T6 gear soonish with blues to reach the defense cap.

All in all the dungeon content is nice.

Utgarde pinnacle is the easiest to start of with at level 80 tbh. I'd avoid the occulus if your group has people that don't know how to move in fights. Same goes for halls of lightning

Tanking bosses of level 81-82 at level 77 is a nice challenge. Miss so much I stop at like 800-1k tps and level 80 mages in my guild outaggro me alot.

75,went as far as Gun drak.Had a few problems there because i was in a low level group (3x73) but still it was doable

Got the ring from the last boss there and changed it with sundered souls,waiting for 76 to see if i'll change the quest one with exalted hyjal (just me or it seems quite stupid to have 2 tanking rings tied to the same istance?)

Doesn't the shield only drop in heroic? And don't you have to be 80 to run it heroic? I haven't tried myself if not I need to start farming that thing now (Lvl 77 here).

I'll have a Titansteel Shield Wall by tomorrow. It only takes 3 bars now, which is really not bad at all.

For those of you who aren't miners, you might want to look into it. Titansteel is already under 1000g a bar on my server and sure to keep dropping.

Level 73 so far and leveling effectively as prot using ret gear. I entered Northrend with crappy ret gear which gave me a whopping 1000 AP. Over the course of leveling, I've found a few more plate items that boosts AP to 1.4K or 1.5K and a 20ish% crit rate. Still pretty crappy but single target mobs can be killed in 15-20 seconds with sword and board and AOE tanking seems even easier.

I'm sure it would be even easier as ret in ret gear but this works ok for me. I want to be able to say, "I leveled to 80 as protection"....for whatever its worth

only level 71 sadly. when any quest area you're in there's 8 other people camping the same mobs fro the same low drop rat items, or a ganking party of 6 and just yourself and one other things tend to get a bit...frustrating. so been just leveling my DK (64 atm) which is going moderately faster now that i'm FINALLY out of hellfire, aka new barrens. on my server there's only a handful of people that have hit 80 as well. suffice to say, i won't be getting into naxx any time soon because of all this. sad panda =(

I'm level 77 and halfway to 78. I would be 80, but I have school and night school.

I'm leveling Retribution and I'm pretty much blued out from quest items and instancing. I hit really hard, I can usually kill a mob in under 5-8 seconds.

I can't wait to hit 80 and start farming gear and such.

Level 71 and really enjoying the Howling Fjord Viking story line and special effects in the spirit world. Add to that Utgarde Keep which is Ramparts on steroids and you have possible the best start to an expansion of a MMORPG I have seen. Well done Blizzard!!!

Which is good as The Boring Tundra is about as interesting as shutting your 'bits' in a mousetrap. Blizzard you suck!!!

I'm 77 right now, gonna be 80 by the weekend, and run a bunch of instances all weekend... and go from there. The biggest problem is the vast majority of people on my server are level 73 or lower, we have a few 80's but the runs they do are guild only and such, and my guild is in the 74-75 range. Hopefully taking it slow this week everyone will catch up.

lvl 72 atm just finished up nothing boring about borean achievment and moving over to HF to see the quests becasue im in no big hurry to lvl to 80 i rushed thru 60-70 just to start raiding and i ended up missing alot
but pluggin along ( o im also lvling as prot just cuz i did it 1-70 )

level 76, 65% experiance in.

Capped First Aid.
Capped Blacksmithing.
Capped Mining.

I did the first 5 levels without the TomTom/Lightheaded/QuestHelper mod trio-extraordinaire before i went completely insane, and watched all the people of equal time-investment and competance who WERE using them all dinging 80 while I was floundering around in Dragonblight.

haven't d/l tomtom or lightheaded.

But I got frustrated with the time involvement vs. level gains too and broke down to get questhelper.

With just questhelper I probably increased my productivity > 50%.

My miner is an alt, so I was going to level my pally to 80 before trying to level proffessions.
