and ended up toggling the shadow effect at max and found that it was a real treat to look at. Try it if you have a good video card.

At max res, I took a small hit to my fps. Was doing 60+.

But yeah, the shadow effect is hot.

What resolution and other settings are you running? My framerate was terrible last night with shadows one notch below max when flying anywhere in Outlands, and also in IF. I have 8800GT too.

running 1680x1050, max everything (even some settings overmaxed via graphics macros, ground clutter, max draw dist etc...) i'm capped at 60 or so in old world, i hit about 35-45fps in outlands, 35-45 in any northrend zone up to grizzly hills, then 20-30fps in storm peaks and beyond.

also, 8800GTX, 2g ram, dual core etc.
