It's probably the best love story put to film, the two men want to be with each other but they know they can't because of society which ruins their lives. They're completely trapped and it's quite distressing! :( The sadness is really overwhelming and whenever I hear the theme I feel haunted by it.

Citizen Kane, if only to sit through the entire film and realize that this is NOT the greatest film of all time.

No Country for Old Men
The Fugitive
The Goonies
Dr. Strangelove
Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
Lawrence of Arabia
Unforgiven
American Psycho
The Prestige
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (the original)

agree. Even if your straight you'll like the movie. It isn't a "gay" movie.

I watched it (shh dont tell anyone) and honestly it's a great movie. I'd watch it again.

Wow, somebody else out there enjoyed R & G are Dead? /cheer!

Other than what has been pointed out already, 3 Musketeers, Equilibrium, and reemphasize Dr. Strangelove.

I don't understand why people love this so much. I watched it and hated every second of it.

ya know.. i agree. My favorite of his is definitely Nausicaa. The story is absolutely great and I attribute that film to why I like anime in the first place. I remember watching "Warriors of the Wind" on HBO back in like 1983 when I was 5 or 6 years old.. absolutely LOVED IT. Then because the name was changed from the original went through absolute hell trying to find the real name later when I was in college. Since I found it I've purchased warriors of the wind, nausicaa in japanese, and then disney dubbed version when that came out. I love that movie most likely because of the fond memories i had of it in childhood.

As for Princess Mononoke...I agree, with Vediog. It was a bit of a yawn fest.

well i included it in my list not really because of the storyline but because it is the most detailed and beautiful anime movie i have seen... i mean just the looks alone is why i put it up and its sort of the only anime film ive seen that detailed or good, ive seen others but they were imo crap (naruto films and the bleach one are all ive seen of anime films)

But if we're including anime, I'll throw Fullmetal Alchemist and Trigun out there.
