Why I'd rather group with Ret than Holy

Postby Joanadark » Thu Jul 03, 2008 6:42 pm

I'd say that protecting people by killing their enemies is better than healing them. Why?

Imagine this: You're getting attacked. You get hit down to 10% of your HP - a near mortal blow, causing extreme pain and suffering. You're bleeding, your life is flashing before your eyes, and you feel like you just got cut in half - because you did.

Some guy in plate is standing 40 yards away from you and casts a spell, instantly restoring you and alleviating your pain.

Then you get hit again, causing another near-death and more incredible pain. This happens a few more times, jumping between horrifying, terrible pain and being healed, always teetering between life and death.

The suffering eventually drives you insane. You can't sleep anymore. You wonder when the next near-deathblow is going to come. You curse the Paladin for keeping you alive through this torment.

On the other hand, you have the ret Paladin. You get hit, you're hurt bad, but then the Ret Paladin goes and smashes the thing attacking you into a pulp. Then he patches you up with a couple weaker healing spells and says "walk it off."
Arkham's Razor: a theory which states the simplest explaination tends to lead to Cthulu.

It will take hours for a ret pally to kill something ...
on the other hand it takes eons for a prot pally to do it ...
