Bummer on the rest though. That residency and waiting period requirement is pretty much the most illogical thing I've ever heard of. Talk about shutting yourself off completely to out of state recruiting and the use of "travelers"...weird. I'm somewhat surprised such a thing exists.

I checked on the Minnesota Board of Nursing site and even called them. There's nothing like transferring licenses to MN. It's only 30 days and I have some fires to put out (figuratively speaking) anyway, so I might as well just take this time as an unpaid vacation or furlough. I'll be eligible to apply for my license sometime in September, depending on whether or not I can get community service credit in MN for a case in NV (I don't see why not, they already accept community service from AZ).

Plus, until I get that damnable restitution paid I'm pretty much radioactive when it comes to finding a job anyway. Until I complete the restitution, I'm technically a felon (for felony theft, no less!), so I might be able to get hired on at one of those places halfway houses farm ex-convicts out to as second-chancers. Once that's done though, the case against me will be dismissed and the only thing in NCIC will be outstanding warrant arrests/case dismissed.

I'll have to check with a headhunter to see if they know of any way around the process. That's actually a good idea.

Well, on to some good news. My wife and I (who I met on match.com and got to play wow for a bit) are expecting our second child. We are going with the same naming convention as the first. My daughter was born in the year of the dragon, and the element that year was water. So we were looking at dragon and/or water names. Marina was a top contender until we found Kaida, a japanese name for little dragon. Well, this is the year of the horse, and the element is wood. Now, I don't know exactly how my mind made this leap, it was late at night, but I found a way to use both the element and the animal. My son's name will be Troy.

Congratulations! Those are both great names, well done. :)

I'm truly sorry to hear that. :(

Even though we don't all know each other on these boards, I still feel like there's a slightly tighter relation of sorts, more so than on any other public board I frequent. So as Nooska says, condolences, and know that it is sincere.

There never really are any "right words" to say when something like this happens, but I truly am sorry for your loss.

First off, damn, Snake. It's not much, but I'm sorry for your loss.

I don't remember hearing about marriage, but I do remember the posts and the bad shape she was in.
It's sad-clown levels of funny that I've been wondering why you were almost not posting anymore. I guess I have my answer :-/

Been a couple weeks now. The heart transplant worked but failed after a particularly bad seizure. Not much else to say.
