Takashi Miike's movies are disturbing. He just dredges up the worst possible, yet very believable, situations, and makes a movie.
Audition was a lot more disturbing than Ichi the Killer was ... *shudders*

My friends and i called other friends and made them watch it. We watched it several times in the first week, forcing more and more people to join in on the fun.

Another quick one to add to the list: the Firefly box-set with all the episodes before it was cancelled. And if you really enjoy the series, then the movie Serenity (based off the series) is a must!
