Blizzard took the easy way out of actually balancing shamans by adding in MS.
Pie is a very good thing. However, when all you eat is pie 24/7, it starts to get gross.
this is what blizz is doing with MS, shoving it down our throats like its supposed to help

Giving mortal strike to shamans and hunters isn't about buffing them.
Hunter's arena buff was dead zone removal and arcane shot.
Shaman's arena buff was instant ghost wolf and 50% snare removal.
Classes have been given MS to reduce warrior's monopoly over every bracket in the arena. Because warriors aren't OP. MS is just that important in arena.

Buffing shamans is good, but MS?
What shamans need is some anti CC, wich shamans have in the PTR already.
Besides, in 3v3 or 5v5 team, a shaman will pop up a flametongue totem and buff the nearby warriors and rogues(and silly BM hunter's pets?) with the mortal strike effect on all freaking melee attacks, and shamans will use WF+WF or WF+FB combo on weapons.
It's more of a buff for other melee classes teaming up with a shaman, than for the shaman himself.

deeps doesn't usually need to, the other healer breaking cc for 2 second is enough to start the cycle over again for another 5 minutes of slowly whittling people down as they get healed for double the damage people can do to them.
no, giving everyone MS probably isn't the answer, but something to nerf healing output is still very welcome till they find something better.

The objective would never to be kill anyone on the other team, it would be to keep going until the other team /afks out.
Maybe toss a resto druid or two in there too.
