Do you like to Scare pugs?

Postby Snake-Aes » Wed Feb 27, 2008 5:46 am

When I hit 12k unbuffed HP, I saw that very few heroics would give me trouble, and started chainpulling/megapulling heroic monsters, and you'd usually see the pugs doing the typical "<desperate voice> AAH OMG WERE GONNA DIE THIS IS THE END! </desperate voice>"

I grew fond of scaring them.
2 raven guards in heroic sethekk?(those that hit like 9234809 trucks-per-second each)
"Hunter: Okay, Cheetah ready, which one you want me to kite?"
"Me: Good luck stealing aggro from either. <throws shield>"
"Hunter: WTF U CRAZY"

Once I had the ideal hp boost in botanica:priest healer, boomkin, affLock with improved imp and fury warrior.
"me: use your hp shout"
"warrior: kay but why?"
"me: <pulls 3 groups of chemists/botanists/whatever>"
---"healer: Don't ever give me another heart attack like that O.O"

Of course, you can't forget scaring the pug before it even starts.
"<wears no visible gear other than a [Lovely Red Dress] and joins the group>"
"pug#1: hum, that's not your tank gear, is it?"
"me: nope, not really. Just playing"
"pug#1: ah, k."
"<everyone in the instance>"
"<puts on the shield>"
"Me: k, may I pull?"
"Pug#2 has left the party"
"me: :D"
"<puts on real tanking gear, doubling the hp>"
"<pulls>"

What do you guys do to scare pugs? I'm running out of ideas

Only thing I have ever done when in a PuG is pull 3 groups at the same time to wake healers up. I tend to find PuG groups scary enough places, both gear and talent wise without me having to scare then even more by tanking in a santa hat :)

Plus I have a fairly good name as a PuG tank on the server I play on, bubble hearthing might jepordise that...

Only thing I ever really do is what it takes to make me not have 0 mana all run. That means either overpulling or undergearing obviously. Normal UB in 10 pulls was good times.

Life's too short to pug if you don't have to, so I don't.
Be careful when you argue with trolls, lest you become one.

The(for me) 2nd pull away from the 2nd boss in HUB.
Know after you come up the camp there's a few pulls then a group of 4, 2 mobs patting, then another group of 4 at the far end?
I like to run up to that first group of 4 and do them plus the pat. Ok only 6 mobs but they hurt like hell :(

Then sometimes a runner aggroes the next group of 4.
...working on surviving that.
I have ADHD and OCD...I keep forgetting to wash my hands.

"Yep."

My wife was pugging the quest to kill the elite dudes on the BT Terrace... they get to the part that they have to kill the dude by the supplicants and she asks me if I will come do my thing, and of course I say "sure".

Its my wife (a Feral Druid) and 2 hunters, and then me. One of the hunters looks at all the supplicants and says "we are gonna need more people to clear this..."

My wife sits in the corner and says "Nah, come sit by me and watch the show..."

I do my Supplicant farming thing and I pull the elite too while they all sit in the corner. My wife has seen me do that atleast 50 times, and the two hunters just sit there in amazement and one says " I have only ever seen that kind of shit in videos!"

I don't pug much at all, but when I do, i usually get one of 2 extremes... either the healer asks who is tanking, realizing it's a Paladin, and they leave the party(hasn't happened in a long time), or they say "Thank god, this run should go pretty quick then."

I had a brand new guildie healer join a group we put together for an Auch instance (don't rmember which one) as soon as she realized I was tanking, she said "Well, the last Tankadin I ran with ruined my view of tankadins, I hope you don't suck..." I turned her view around pretty fast and then ran her thru Kara with my super group

As far as scarying Pugger's, I think in H Shattered Halls, pulling the Gladiator packs 2 at a time would do it (at full health no less)

Ahaha, I overpull in ANYTHING I go in, and yell out on vent (if they decide to come) "OH LAWD GIMME SOME HEALZ", secretly having a backup plan just incase something bad DOES happen. (LOH, Pots, Dodge Trinket + Healin' Trinket)

Pugs scare me.
This is why I'm a humorless feminist. Because rape jokes killed my sense of humor.
