Bye Bye Hd DVD
So, who is a casualty in the format wars?

This is one time I am glad I was not an early adopter. That said, I probably would have bought Blue Ray anyway.

I don't have either, I barely watch the TV anyway, if I want to see a film I'll go to the cinema. I have no symthapy for people who spend lots of money just so they can have something 1st to rub it in other peoples faces.
There are far more important things in the world than being a smug git.
Edit - I still dislike Sony because of the Betamax debacle from the late 70's so would have probably gone HD DVD, however I didn't fortunately.

Betamax was better quality than VHS. The only problem is that back then no one cared back then. Most people already had VHS and those that didn't saw the distinct lack of titles available. Not to mention that Sony wouldn't let anyone else make the players (kinda like memory sticks).
this time they learned from their mistakes and allow others to produce the players and people care about picture quality.
Blu-ray was the better technology so I'm glad it won. It has almost twice the storage of an hd-DVD and who doesnt like blue things? Seriously. Hd-DVD just made it cheaper on studios since they could use their old machines to create the disks.
now that the format war is over, maybe we can start seeing lower prices. 30 bucks for a movie is a bit more than I'm willing to spend. So I have a grand total of 4 blu-ray movies now (and one of them came with the ps3)
