Jim Gaffigan's routine on cake and pie:

Cake is much better than pie. Otherwise it would be a panpie.

A friend made me a cake with yellow squiglies on top, then said it was Consecake.

I LOLed.

I vote pie due to the fact (indisputable) that cheesecake is actually a pie in nature.

Crust, filling, topping = pie. Cheesecake has these elements in the graham crust and appropriate filling (I prefer a slightly cherry cheesecake, myself, but blueberry is definitely good as well. Strawberry is fairly solid, too) and can (though it's optional) have a small layer of topping (usually crumbled graham in my experience).

Cake has little on pie in terms of goodness save frosting. The cake itself (that is, the non-frosting portion) is usually unimpressive, IMO.

I enjoy both greatly, and I think Pie offers itself to greater comedy and so I use it in reference a lot, but I have to be honest, cake all the way

I have to say that Pie out - ranks cake due to the following quote:

For my birthday, I always get a pie instead of a cake...

What in the smurfin' smurf is wrong with you people?

Brownies+milk > cake, pie, child-bearing hips, or what-have-you

Now if you actually *submerge* the brownie IN the glass of milk, it surpasses even LOLcats.

You know I'm right, it's time you came to terms with it.

What about brownies and milk, eaten off someone's child-bearing hips?

Pure win?

Too much work put into that cake. I'd never want to eat it. Which is why I will always side with pie and CBH.
