Re: Election 2012
For all you fine folks back in the U.S., please go vote if you haven't sent in an absentee ballot already. Ultimately our republic (Note, I did NOT say democracy) depends upon active participation of an informed electorate to function as intended. That doesn't mean we have to agree, so vote your conscience and follow reason as you see appropriate.
For you folks in Chicago, make sure to remind your dead relatives and pets to vote, too. Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I should probably stop watching the poll results so early on... it scares me when Romney has a projected lead...

Re: Election 2012
There were good arguments why I should vote this go around (2nd time in my entire life).
I voted (by mail-in ballot).
Today, I regret that (for no actual reason, mind you)

No need to worry, Just remember Cali has 55 votes and is going to obama. Plus west coast polls haven't closed yet!

"My concern for this nation grows greater," defeated Senate candidate Richard Mourdock says, tearfully. NPR's Sonari Glinton reports that the GOP candidate says he was "attacked for standing for my principles."

I know, which is why I just said I need to stop watching the early stuff. Granted, I've been tracking the race the whole time, and it's just continually been going in Obama's favor.
I fully expect him to finish up in Florida, making Ohio irrelevant (and hopefully meaning it doesn't draw out the election.) Virginia is looking promising as well, but he doesn't need it at this point.

Re: Election 2012
That's the same reason why the pundits talking about Romnney winning the popular vote are full of it. Only something like 5% of California has been counted, and that will more than make up for the paltry 0.2% Obama is behind.
Final result looks like an Obama victory in every single swing state except North Carolina, exactly as predicted on 538.com with the state poll averages.
Obama will likely have a 2-3% popular vote lead, with fantastic turn out for the Democrats.
Senate looks good for the Dems as well, with them winning the majority of the key races, including some of the tightest ones like Virginia. Tea Party congressmen thrown out of office left and right. Both candidates who made the rape comments were soundly defeated.
In other news, Maryland has upheld their Gay Marriage law, and Colorado has voted to legalize Marajuana.

Am I a bad person for finding it fucking hilarious that Romney's supporters at HQ were crying when he was projected to lose?

My favorite part was when Candy Crowley happened to be on screen for CNN, and they started booing and screaming at her that it was her fault and throwing things at the screen.
I also like how there isn't a SINGLE non-white person in that entire auditorium.

Also, at least we can finally stop talking about that stupid Redskins Rule

Non-whites are part of the 47%.
Obviously.

Maine and Washington passed Gay Marriage laws as well.
And Montana (I think) was against Marijuana.
