I Quit WOW a few weeks before Cata was released


I always tell people quitting WoW was the best decision I've ever made in my life.

Out of curiosity I question why?

I was just completely burnt out. Hardcore raiding really killed my love for the game. Eventually all I did was log on to do arena or stand around and chat.

I figured it wasn't worth paying 15 dollars for.

Wow took over my life for a long time.

Does that mean if I play wow I can't spend money on hookers? Damn. I guess I'd better quit wow then - it's preventing me from renting dates!

The LFG changes really brought that home to me when I was playing with 4 strangers who didn't say a single thing running through heroics I could solo just to get some badges for better gear. And I had to do it every day.

One recentish change I like is that your daily heroic rewards got converted to an award that could be earned a total of 7 times a week. Same per week bonus if you did 7 random heroics, but you could do say 3 one day, 2 each the next, or 4 in one go etc. Makes it a bit more fun as you can get your bonuses in some consecutive runs with guildies.
