GooApple
An IPhone 4 form factor, IPhone 4 Look and Feel, but on top of a modded Android 2.2 OS.

I always get a kick out of seeing devices like this. They've done a pretty good job emulating the IOS look and feel on Android and it seems to run rather smoothly. Granted, you probably wouldn't be able to sell that in the US, but it's still a rather neat product.
Do not turn this into another Android vs. IPhone (or some variant of that) thread!

Re: GooApple
interesting. It won't be long before there's a port of that ROM for other devices. To be honest, iOS with Android's notification bar seems like a big win. (though I still prefer Android's homescreens and app drawer, but still)
I'm still rocking my D1, lol.
*edit
on a side note. Looked up the band thats in that video...I really like their songs.
like this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYBf06qAgDo&feature=fvst
though I guess the song in the phone vid is "Under a violet moon"

Hi, welcome to the Asylum. I see you're new here.
I suppose General would have been a better place, I'm just used to posting non WoW stuff in the Asylum. I'm not the least bit concerned however, my little [X] button at the top of every post gives me a bit of flexibility.

Probably, though the ability to use IPhone after market products won't be available on other ports.

I once used an Ubuntu theme to make Linux look like OSX, (it ran ok on a Dell c600,) I suppose this is the same thing really. I don't imagine you can sell it, but there's nothing wrong with running it or designing the mods I would think.

I suspect that they plan on selling it. You're right in that a lot of it is just UI candy, but I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they had to do a bit to the core Android 2.2 for some of the features.cerwillis wrote:I once used an Ubuntu theme to make Linux look like OSX, (it ran ok on a Dell c600,) I suppose this is the same thing really. There's also the hardware aspect. I'd be curious if they can read data through the dock port. Forgive me if that was shown in the video, I didn't watch the whole thing.

Depending on local copyright stuff they'd be hard pressed to sell it without legal repercussions.
We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.

For sure, I wouldn't expect to see it in the mainstream in many countries. That said, they do have a "Buy" link on their website. There's not much else there I can read though.
