Desktop Dungeon Game
Not sure of how much of the Maintankadin populace enjoys dungeon crawlers but this is a pretty fun and addictive one I wanted to share.

Very simple game but it can be painfully difficult if you make the wrong moves. The basics of the game are basically you pick a race and a class, you spawn in a randomly generated dungeon. Reveal tiles and try to level up by defeating monsters to eventually defeat the boss.
It's harder than it sounds.

Its quite a nice puzzle game
I managed to do the first two dungeons I tried as a warrior and a berserker. Trying as a thief now and having slight difficulty at the end! It would be nice to see a list of what actions each God likes / dislikes as some of them seem a bit vague...
Aha! Just finished it with my Elven Thief, scored 20146 points.

Priests are EPIC WIN if your boss is undead.

That was pretty cool. Sucks that you're so dependant on rng, though. Exploring half the map before encountering killable mobs? Check.
Certain dungeon/boss combinations seem unkillable, depending on your class. Rogue vs Goo boss? Hell, any melee class vs Goo-boss (unless you happen to get the God that can remove physical resistance from mobs).
Warlord w/ double cheat death is pretty overpowered. The First Strike ability is a major resource saver.

I used to play a paladin.

Entertaining, but short. I still prefer Nethack for my random dungeon crawling. Unfortunately, I suck at it now and can't even get down past level 30 into Ghenna anymore. >.>
At least I'm not as unlucky as one of my friends who drank from a fountain on the first level and had a water demon pop out of it who then proceeded to summon Yeenoghu to annihilate him.

Nethack is better from a "you can work around almost anything RNG can throw at you if you're good enough" PoV but I have to admit I feel compelled to unlock everything before I stop playing this little gem. Some of the strategies you can administer are very subtle and rewarding though and the special classes in particular are fun to work with. The challenge levels (or what I've seen of them) are genuinely challenging too as opposed to arbitrary, it's nice to not see the challenge mode and immediately go into "jump" "how high?" mode.
My favourite strategy was leaving a level 1 mob next to the super meat man so I could level up mid fight. Eat that you stupid fat meaty bastard!
For those who like to do their research before playing I give you:

Doing the Crypt as a Paladin/Monk was very easy! (un-surprisingly) but trying to do it as an assassin is a lot harder...
I haven't unlocked everything yet, but I've got the Tinker class which is great fun, and the gorgon. I didn't like the transmuter, I got rather bogged down playing that class and gave up.
Trying out the different gods is fun, I think the Earthmother *could* be very powerful but I've never really managed to get it to work. Walling off half the dungeon needs to be done with care!

Amirya:Why yes, your penis is longer than his because you hit 30k dps in the first 10 seconds. But guess what? That raid boss has a dick bigger than your ego.
Flex:I don't make mistakes. I execute carefully planned strategic group wipes.
Levie:(in /g) It's weird, I have a collar and I dont know where I got it from, Worgen are kinky!

So...does anyone know how the attack powerups work? Are they level based? Are they random? Sometimes I don't get anything, sometimes I can get up to 3.
Overall, I'm really enjoying the game.

i think its a combo
i see up to 6-7 on a map, but i have also unlocked 2 additional classes so that may have something to do with it

Nah, I figured it out.
Attack is based on two things:
Base damage
Bonus
Base damage is modded by level/class/items/god buffs.
The powerups give 1 to the bonus, which gives 10% of your attack. Which is why at high levels you'll see 2-3 and at low levels (pre-10 base damage) you won't see anything.
Edit: Rereading your post you seem to be talking about spawn rates. I'm talking about the formula...but whatever. No idea how spawn rates work, probably randomness though.

Re: Desktop Dungeon Game
There are always 3 attack/health/mana powerups in each level, unless you are the Thief where there is an extra one.
Attack gains +10% of base damage for each powerup you get. Some classes start with +ve or -ve bonuses, and humans get +10% when they recycle a glyph.
