Oh dear lord people DO this to their PC's?
How not to care for your PC
I'll just leave this here so everyone can witness what I was just forced to look at.
I hate my friends.
I also hate people that treat their computers like this.
Misanthropy is fun.

Once had a PC returned for repair, reported problem; general deadness. Wish I'd taken pictures now.
Apparently it had been used for 2-3 years in a kitchen of a greasy spoon and it showed. The once cream coloured case look like it had been deep fried and was now a golden brown. Dust balls were the least of the problems as every surface inside was covered in fatty residue.
If I remember rightly we ended up claiming it wasn't worth touching and sold them a new one.

All the dust in the world can never be worse than a PC owned by a chain-smoker. When that stuff gets thick enough that there are strings of it, that's the worst. I used to work at a computer repair shop that had a steady clientele of middle-aged smoking men, so I saw it a lot.
Though that picture of the one with the cockroaches is probably the worst of all. And that dead frog...WTF?

Hm.... what's the best way to go about cleaning a laptop without voiding the warranty? And for the record... I AM playing from a desert, though I'm pretty sure my laptop isn't nearly as horrid as some of those pics.

Poor frog
Those pictures make me want to open my laptop and clean it, even though I'm pretty sure it's not that bad apart from some stray hairs.

I have hepa filters on my intake fans. I smoke at the computer, but every year when I open it up to do a spring clean/rebuild on it (and replace the filters), it's almost as clean as the day I first put it together. The filters get pretty nasty though.
