I just got a sinking feeling in my stomach. I'm actually scared.
Any opinions?

My opinion: I wish I hadn't got out of the Marine Corps last year. This might be a pretty exciting time to be in!

Re: South/North Korean incident.
I heard some conspiracy guy a few minutes ago bring up the chinese in this.
I mean could North Korea have done this without informing the Chinese? I know the leader is crazy so maybe.
But the conspiracy guy brought up the mysterious trail in the skies of California a few weeks ago, that is yet to be completely explained (accepted explanation is the trail of a jet). This dude said it could have been a Chinese submarine tossing a flare or missile to see if they could get through our defenses...or our public reaction.
I hope that's just what it is a conspiracy theory.
But in all reality, if China wanted to kick our ass, wouldn't it be the best time to do it when our economy is in the shitter?, like it is now?
Then again, China has so much invested in our country I don't know.
Sorry guys, I'm worried cuz my brother is in the Air Force and he was in Korea for over a year and he has a lot of friends over there still. Plus the fact that if these two countries get into it, China would back up the North and the US would have to back up the South and that would essentially put us at war with China.

Assuming it's just South vs North I'm pretty sure the South can fully take over the North.
The big wildcard in this whole argument is China who we don't want to fuck with atm. If the South invades the North I expect China to back the North which would lead to the US helping the South which would lead to a bunch of shit.
Then theres Iran.
Russia will be sitting back watching biding their time I'm sure.

Bad Juju, this.
I hate to say it, but the South Koreans need to do something soon. They got a boat sunk a while back and did nothing but give stern warnings. This crap is gonna continue until they show that they aren't going to just sit there and take it...
Not good for anyone, though.

Most people want the wealth produced by a society with limited government distributed to them more generously by bigger government.

Re: South/North Korean incident.
Russia is pretty much incapable of acting as anything but an arms dealer for subpar weaponry at this point. Their economy is even further in the shitter than any other countries, and china is the bigger threat regardless. Kim Jong Il is reportedly sick and dying, so this might be his last, best chance at an invasion of S Korea.
If China gets actively involved, sending troops weapons and supplies, then we're in for a shitstorm and more likely than not, we'll lose that fight. There's a reason that nobody's ever invaded China - Stalin threatened to near the end of WWII. He had the biggest tank army in the world (at the time) and threatened to roll the entire thing over China's western border. The Chinese replied "Sure, send your tanks. We'll meet you at the border with 2 billion peasants armed with sticks and rocks. Sure, you'll kill a few, but there'll be leftovers when you run out of ammunition, and I'm betting they'll be pretty pissed by then."
Stalin declined.
China has a history of pretty much just reaching out and enveloping whatever they want - see tibet and mongolia for examples - and daring people to come in and take it back. The only thing keeping them in check, really, is trade. They aren't a fully industrialized country, so they need the manufactured goods that get traded there. With Hong Kong going back to them after they refused to renew Great Britain's lease on it back in ... uh, 1999? (I think, don't remember offhand), they got a lot of state of the art factories that have been copied throughout "han china". So their involvement in a N vs S Korean conflict might be a reality.
Long story short, it's all possible; and more than just possible, it's quite probable. All we really need to have the global situation degenerate into WWIII is for the india/pakistan conflict to flare up, or korea vs korea, or iran deciding it wants to move on iraq. Any of those situations flaring into open conflict will trigger a domino effect, thanks to the entanglements the US has in all of them.
