Amirya:Why yes, your penis is longer than his because you hit 30k dps in the first 10 seconds. But guess what? That raid boss has a dick bigger than your ego.
Flex:I don't make mistakes. I execute carefully planned strategic group wipes.

It's funny, I see the Pocahontas/Avatar thing mentioned alot, but if I recall correctly, the Avatar concept and idea, if not the finalised script, were done before the movie Pocahontas was made.
The elements of the story are classic in origin. It's no more or less original than myriad other movies, including Pocahontas.
I suspect it's the overwhelming success of the film that cause people to want to knock it down a few notches, but I prefer to view it as what it was - a visually ground-breaking film set in a fascinating world.
For me, the name of the ore - unobtanium - told me "you don't need to know why it's so important, just accept the fact that it's really rare and enjoy the film." So I didn't really pick it apart while viewing it.
And I honestly don't recall Pocahontas plugging her ponytail into a tree to talk to God, but I might have slept through that part.
Development for avatar began 1994. Pocahontas released in 1995. Though i haven't been able to find when they started working on it, I very much doubt it took a just a year to make an animated film.
just saying. and I'm not knocking avatar, its a good movie for what it is, a summer blockbuster.

It probably also singlehandedly saved 3d from being just a mediocre gimmick in mediocre films, too.

Which makes me sad. Cause now it's a mediocre gimmick in otherwise good films.
I truly wish the current idea of "3D" would die a well deserved death, in the majority of films using it it's not even real 3D, just 2D with forced spectroscopy!
Mark Kermode says it far better than I could though, well worth a read if you are even remotely interested in current film making.

Thus "Dances with Smurfs".

I was only pissed that she died again. All her characters kinda have to "fucking die" it's annoying.

Yea...giving Avatar 4 stars, Unstoppable 3 and a half totally shows he doesn't enjoy scenery porn.
We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.

I wish that 3d would go away. I watched one movie in 3d, hated it, and have not watched another pic in 3d. It gives me a headache.

I saw Avatar in 3D once. It was absolutely amazing.
I will never do it again. Takes way too much concentration.
3D movies need to go die. Once you have hologram movies let me know; until then, shove off.

Re: WTF is Sucker Punch?
Big reason that "3D" is in half the movies now, isn't so much because it actually makes the movies better, but, theaters can charge quite a bit more for a 3d ticket than a regular one.

Re: WTF is Sucker Punch?
It made Avatar better, and I've heard that it made How to Train Your Dragon better as well. But yeah, it's terribly hit or miss, and misses more than it hits.
