Is Obama a Keynesian?
Some smart ass decided to ask this rather obvious question: Is Obama a Keynesian?at John Stewart's rally this past weekend. This is almost as easy as Pen and Teller show Bullshit! where they circulate petition to ban DiHydrogen Monoxicde at an environmentalist rally.

I forget where I saw it, but I saw a similar video to this (as well as the Pen&Teller thing) a long time ago that was about getting people to agree to end women's suffrage.

It was also a bit on The Man Show...I think it was even on their first episode.

Videos like those make me want to just follow those guys around reading from the wikipedia page on Keynesian Economics every time they ask the question. I mean ignorance is one thing but ambushing people with obscure shit like this in a crowded area when they all just came to have a good time is not cool at all.

NewLeftMedia is pretty much an entire youtube channel dedicated to doing interviews with the dumbest people they can find.
While I'm sure there are a great number of uninformed people at rallies and they make for funny videos they never show the people that can actually answer the questions.
It's just like "Americans are idiots" video. A videomaker showed people you can do the exact same video (i.e asking random questions and showing only the idiots) to the British and Germans as well.

Although Keynes isn't all *that* obscure, I wouldn't be too hard on people for not knowing what it is by name. Thinking that "Keynesia" is a country, on the other hand...is just a little sad. Really not a surprising result though: there are a lot of people out there with less than stellar knowledge of geography and politics, and no ideology or nationality seems to have cornered the market.

Apparently there's a website out there dedicated to informing the populace of the numerous dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide: http://www.dhmo.org/facts.html
My favorite part:
My favorite part:
Its basis is the highly reactive hydroxyl radical, a species shown to mutate DNA, denature proteins, disrupt cell membranes, and chemically alter critical neurotransmitters. The atomic components of DHMO are found in a number of caustic, explosive and poisonous compounds such as Sulfuric Acid, Nitroglycerine and Ethyl Alcohol.
